About this listing
Welcome to my apartment! I'm offering a private bedroom (with option for an additional room) on the famous Upper West Side of Manhattan. It's a very large, quiet apartment, and I'm usually not home, so it will feel like it's all yours! The place includes a living room, dining room, den, full kitchen, and plenty of space for your stuff. You can use anything you want. The neighborhood is exploding with new bars and restaurants, and it's of course easy to go downtown too!
I live by myself in a very large apartment (it was originally 4 bedrooms), and I'm looking to use one of them to host nice people.
I'm on the Upper West Side, ideally situated between Central Park and Riverside Park (both are amazing and just 3 blocks away). I'm also very close to the Red AND Blue subway lines, which can get you anywhere in the city easily. I'm near Columbia University and Morningside Park (a hidden gem that no one talks about). The area is currently flourishing with new bars and restaurants coming in every month -- just in the past month we've got 2 new micro-brew beer bars, a ramen restaurant, a BBQ joint, a French bakery, and a Peruvian restaurant. And parking on the street is pretty easy too.
There is a nice dining room, a spacious living room with a flatscreen TV, a kitchen that you can use, WIFI, a den with a bar in it (help yourself!), and one clean bathroom.
Queen bed with a nice mattress, AC, your own closet, dresser, desk, and subway map on the wall ;) It's very quiet, which is important in Manhattan.
Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as they'd like to.
The Upper West Side is one of Forbes' Best Neighborhoods in the country. This particular part of the UWS side is fast growing and young. There are many parks, bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. There are lots of families in the area, as well as students. The excitement of midtown and downtown are just a few minutes away with a subway or taxi. To me, it's the ideal mix of a nice, quiet neighborhood feel but easy access to the rest of the city.
There are many transportation options. 2 subway lines, buses, taxis, and most things are walkable anyway. I grew up in the city so I can help you get anywhere you want to go.
