Alison is a great host and sweet as can be. The room was exactly as described and clean as expected. Would recommend her place for a simple place to stay.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Alison's place was great. Clean and comfortable. The location worked perfectly for my trips around the city. I would happily rebook the room if the timing worked out again.
Alison is a very respectful and friendly host.
The area is not especially interesting when it comes to activities, but it will without a doubt make you feel like a real newyorker.
The M-train take you to Manhattan in no time and the apartment is just 10 minutes walk from the L-train that will take you to Williamsburg/East Village/Union Square.
Over all a good room if you're looking for a cheap alternative to hotels, and are OK about living in Brooklyn.
Alison was really helpful and nice with us! We spent 4 nights there, in a small but very pleasant apartment. The neighborhood is calm but a bit noisy with the subway not far away, that wasn't a problem for us anyway. There are many bars and restaurants around, we really appreciated that. Be careful with the metro lines, not all trains stopped at Hewes when we where there...
My fist AirBnB experience was a success!! Thanks Alison :-)
Allison was readily available to meet me for check in and gave me a quick introduction to the apartment. The bed was very comfortable, and although some reviewers have mentioned the sounds from the subway, that did not bother me, at all. (She does provide a "sound-machine" in your bedroom if you need it to sleep. I didn't. Allison and I communicated by text-messaging. If you have sample-sized "hotel" shampoo and soap, best to bring some for your personal use. If not, there are food spoors and bodegas steps away. There is no TV; the internet worked great. But who goes to NY to watch TV? From the subway station to the apartment it's a few minutes (less than five) easy walk on flat level sidewalk. The neighborhood is an eclectic mix of races and religions. One night, I did not return until 3 AM and the streets were still populated with people. For a clean and (to me) quiet) bedroom in NYC, it's a bargain. It is in Brooklyn so you may need to change subway lines depending on where in Manhattan you want to go.

Fun, sociable, reliable, hard working and respectful.
I am a Hot Yoga teacher.
I'm easy to get along with as I come from a mixed background and I've travelled and lived in different places in Europe, Africa and the USA.
Italy's Tuscany region (Florence) being my favorite vacation destination. I also loved Capetown in South Africa where I went on a Safari and saw the Big 5 (Rhino, Buffalo, Elephant, Leopard and Lion).
I speak fluently English and French, got to learn at an early age Italian and started speaking Spanish a couple of years ago.
I dine out a lot and I'm always curious to discover ethnic styles of cooking. I'll never say no to Italian or Indian food !
I'm addicted to NYC's indescribable energy and fast paced life. In love with my neighborhood Williamsburg since the 1st time I visited I will be glad to share and show around the magic of this up and coming neighborhood.
I'm a welcoming, laid back, organized, helpful and respectful host. Barely home, the apartment will feel just like yours. I expect guests to be clean and respectful of the overall apartment but most of all to be friendly and trustworthy.
