Enjoy true ALOHA! Conveniently located, nicely appointed, super clean room just minutes away from awesome beaches, fabulous restaurants, live music, fun shops, several farmers markets and much more. When you stay in Kona anywhere on the island is a doable day trip! At this point I am only able to accommodate a minimum of 30 day stay because of new rules at my condo complex. I am working on relocating! Mahalo, Cecily

Aloha Travelers!

I'm so happy you are planning on visiting Kailua-Kona! If you choose to become part of my "Ohana" (family) while visiting Kona you will be welcomed by a "Super Host". I was awarded this honor after receiving more than 92% five star ratings from my guests, which I am so grateful!

The State of Hawaii requires I pay a total of 13.5% in hotel and sales tax on income from airbnb, not to mention state income tax! The 13.5 % is included in your cost. Please be aware that many people do not have a license to operate legally! I am open to a 'tip' if spirit moves you to help with this cost, but it is not expected!

I will greet you with a fresh flower lei, have a basket of local fruits and flowers in your room, a box of Hawaiian chocolates in your refrigerator, as well as filtered water, and treats. I provide 100% Hawaiian coffee, and an assortment of teas. You are welcome to use staples in my kitchen for light cooking. There is a copy of "The Big Island Hawaii Revealed" in your room to help you explore options of how you want to spend the days, and I'm here to help you as well! I also have connections for great price on Manta Ray night swims, which my guests rave about! I also provide a local cell phone for my international guests to help with communications for tours and with me! And that is not all! Beach towels, beach bags, boogie boards, chairs, cooler, swim noodles, and I have nice quality shampoo and conditioner all for your use!

If this is your first time to this magical island, do not be dismayed when you land on a huge barren lava field, I promise the majority of the island is lush and gorgeous! This area has so much to offer!

My home is located about one mile South of the Kailua-Kona village area, and 8 miles from the airport. We are 2 miles from the famous "Iron Man" finish line! This location is fabulous and really everything is a very 'doable' from here with out long drives. A day trip heading to the north is about 40-80 miles depending on your route, Volcano National Park is 90 miles South. To the east-side, (Hilo) it is a 1.5 hour drive with out stops. Whether you stay with me or someone else, I personally would discourage you from staying in Hilo, and certainly not more than a night, or better yet, one night in Volcano, see the crater glow at night (if the volcano is active) and a drive back to Kona through Hilo, perhaps visit the Botanical Gardens and Akaka Falls if you like. It rains a lot, and is much cooler than Kona, has a lot of Mosquito's and loud frogs, very little beach. Be sure not to fly into Hilo!

My complex has 2 pools, 2 hot tubs and is well maintained and nicely landscaped. The Turtle Room is a master bedroom with a queen bed, in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath ground floor condo. It is very clean, and bright. The room is tastefully decorated, hard wood flooring, and has green accent colors. There are ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room. The room has air conditioning, however due to Hawaii having the highest electric cost in the united states I charge $7 a day for limited use. There is a small fridge as well as a microwave, electric water pot, etc. There may not be room for extra towels and toiletries in the bathroom so they need to come in and out with you, hair styling needs to be in your room as well. There is a great mirror! Also, I keep a few things under that bed and rarely need access, but would always ask first when I do. I have a large patio with a gas grill and it is quite private. You have limited kitchen access for light meal preparation. I am very easy to talk with so feel free to ask about anything! Needs, wants, help, a bandages, aspirin, etc. If I can help I will!

There is beach access about 3 minutes away walking. Swim beach is 2 miles away. The limited bus service stops right in front of my complex too.
You would be a temporary roommate! Usually it would just be you and who ever is in the dolphin bedroom, (and that is typically a single person), and myself, occasionally I will have a friend over or staying with me, and I have been known to sleep on the couch rarely in that case! I am up late at night usually and up early in the morning, so this does not seem to create any problem.

About me: I am metaphysical in nature, love being around like minded people. My passions are dancing, swimming with the wild Dolphins and cooking!

Not a lot of "rules" here except to clean up well after yourself so the tiny ants don't come for a feeding, keep the screen doors closed, be considerate and no cigarette or cigar smoking please close to my place. (vapor cigarettes are fine) I have a washer/dryer and we line dry when possible. You can use the dryer if absolutely necessary. Power is very expensive here, so be aware please, fans off while away and lights off please.

I'm happy to point you in the "right" direction for affordable grocery shopping, points of interest and places to eat and dance! I have no TV, but I have a DVD player in your room, and LOTS of DVDs! I do have WiFi. Please use headphones when possible. The patio is shared with guests.

I look forward to sharing "Aloha" with you.

You have access to the kitchen for light meal preparation, the patio for lounging, eating, and grilling, the pools and hot tubs.

Interaction with guests

I'm known for my enthusiastic opinions on what and where to go and or see, where to eat, where not to eat, ways to save money, etc. while on the Big island! I'm not attached you following my advise, suggestions or accepting offers to join me in adventures, but if you ask for my opinion, (and maybe if you dont) I will happily guide you if I am here! I travel occasionally (maybe 3 weeks out of the year) but I will always make sure you have contact with my helper friend! If I go off island, she will greet you and make sure you are well cared for! Its your special time in Hawaii!!!!

Check in is anytime after 4PM

Just a few "rules". Quiet time is after 10:00 PM until 8:00 AM. Voices really carry close to the ocean, so if you are enjoying the patio please speak softly if possible especially in the late evening. Please close the patio screen door tightly when coming in and out. I love the geckos, but I like them outside best! No smoking with in 50 feet of the condo. And most important, clean up after yourself in common areas. We have little ants who love any form of food. Keeping the counters wiped off, dished done, and food put away
keeps them pretty much away.
Please de-sand as much as possible. I have a hose on the back patio if you need it. If you do get sand in the shower I appreciate you wiping it out, as sand causes horrible plumbing challenges! Please read the printed pages in your room, there is a lot of info I need you to understand and benefit from! Mahalo

You must also acknowledge
Potential for noise - Routine condo noise, (yard maintenance, light traffic at times, neighbors visiting). Most of my guests are surprised by how quiet it is!
Some spaces are shared - shared kitchen, living-room and patio because I live there! I am away quite a bit however. :)

Love staying at Cecily's! The turtle room is home away from home. Cecily's place is super clean, the bed is comfy, the patio is great for lazy mornings and relaxing evenings. Her place is convenient to all the restaurants and stores in Kona. Most of all Cecily is a great host!

this was a room with queen bed and own bathroom in a 3 bedroom ground floor condominium.Other room was also a BnB. Condo is only 50 metres from main road so some traffic noise. Complex has swimming pools and parking.100 metres from ocean and walks. Cecily provided much local info and loaned very good travel guides/maps for sightseeing.

We had a lovely time staying in the Turtle room. The room was spacious with a mini fridge and ensuite and the house is just a short drive to restaurants, bars and shops. Cecily was a fantastic host, always available and happy to answer our questions and offered great advice on how to get the most out of the island

She is warm, spontaneous and very easy and fun to communicate with. I felt immediately at home and she was there for me when needed. You just have to ask and she will provide it when she can. This is defenitely a place you want to go to and come back to and I would recommend it to everyone. Thank you so very much dear Cecily! Love Chantal

Cecily User ProfileCecily is a superhost.

I am a happy hearted, conscience lady who likes to have fun! I am "dancing along to the songs of my soul" which is why I live in Kailua-Kona! This is the most amazing island. Such a variety of things to do and see. It is more laid back with less traffic than any other island, and has more to offer, especially Kona side (except big department stores, for that kind of shopping you want Honolulu)! My passion is cooking and entertaining, enjoying a passion fruit margarita on the patio with you or friends, dancing to the great local bands who performing just 1 mile down the road at fantastic ocean side restaurants and bars, I love swimming with the wild Dolphins, and.... of course, going to my favorite beaches for sunning, playing in the waves and snorkeling. I am easy to talk to, and please just ask if you need anything! I am known to have it! I am eager to give you my guidance to great places to eat, sites to see, the best farmers markets, fabulous Kona coffee, nightly entertainment and how to get to Costco! :)
Welcome to my humble sweet home. My goal is for you to have a 5 star experience!
