Conveniently located, nicely appointed, super clean room just minutes away from awesome beaches, fabulous restaurants, live music, fun shops, several farmers markets and much more. When you stay in Kona anywhere on the island is a doable day trip
I'm so happy you are planning on visiting Kailua-Kona! This area has so much to offer! My home is located about one mile South of the Kailua-Kona village area, and 8 miles from the airport. We are 2 miles from the famous "Iron Man" finish line! This location is fabulous and really everything is a very 'doable" from here with out long drives. A day trip heading to the north is about 40-80 miles depending on your route, Volcano National Park is 90 miles South. To the east-side, (Hilo) it is a 2 hour drive.
If this is your first time to this magical island, do not be dismayed when you land on a huge barren lava field, I promise the majority of the island is lush and gorgeous! If you have a week or so here and IF the lava is flowing and you want to see it at night, you may want to stay one night on the other side the island, and enjoy sight seeing in that area heading back to Kona the following day. MOST of my guests prefer the Kona side and 97% of things you want to see and do are accessible from here with in an hours drive.
My complex has 2 pools, 2 hot tubs and is well maintained and nicely landscaped. The Turtle Room is the master bedroom with a Queen bed and room for a fold out mat or inflatable twin pad for a 3rd person. It is one of 3 bedrooms, in my 3 bedroom 2 bath ground floor condo. It is very clean, and bright. The room is tastefully decorated, with lovely pieces of art, including turtle theme of course, is has hard wood flooring, 3 windows, the larger window faces the patio. There is a ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room. There are 2 large closets, and in one there is a mini fridge, and electric kettle, across from the in the other large closet a dresser and microwave, plates and cutlery if you feel like retreating to your room! :), There is plenty of space to hang your clothes too. Just FYI, I keep a few craft items things in one of the closets that I rarely need access to, but would always ask before going in first when I do. I have a relatively large patio with a gas grill and it is quite private. You have limited kitchen access for light meal preparation. I am very easy to talk with and I have all that one usually needs, like beach mats, coolers, boogie boards, beach towels, etc. There is beach access about 3 minutes away walking. Swim beach is 2 miles away. The limited bus service stops right in front of my complex too.
You would be a temporary 'roommate'. I have another small room on Airbnb, and I live here as well. Occasionally if I have a personnel guest and both rooms are booked I may let them sleep in my room and maybe 3 times a year, I will sleep on the couch! LOL! I am usually up late at night and up early in the morning, so this does not seem to create any problem.
I am metaphysical in nature, love being around like minded people. My passions are dancing, swimming with the wild Dolphins and cooking. Not a lot of "rules" here except to clean up well after yourself so the tiny ants don't come for a feeding, be considerate and no cigarette or cigar smoking close to my place please. (vapor cigarettes are fine) I have a washer/dryer and we line dry when possible. You can use the dryer if absolutely necessary. Power is very expensive here, so please turn off fans and lights while away.
There is air conditioning in the Turtle Room, although I discourage using it, it is an option for $5.00 a day additional charge, and again, please do not leave running all day while you are out and about.
I'm happy to point you in the "right" direction for affordable grocery shopping, points of interest and places to eat and dance! I have no TV! I do have WiFi. Please use headphones when possible. The patio is shared with guests. I do have another room small room on Airbnb. Dolphin Room, Perfect Location.
I look forward to sharing "Aloha" with you.
Just a few "rules". Quiet time is after 10:00 PM until 8:00 AM. Voices really carry close to the ocean, so if you are enjoying the patio please speak softly if possible especially in the late evening. Please close the patio screen door tightly when coming in and out. I love the geckos, but I like them outside best! No smoking with in 50 feet of the condo. And most important, clean up after yourself in common areas. We have little ants who love any form of food. Keeping the counters wiped off, dished done, and food put away
keeps them pretty much away.
Please de-sand as much as possible. I have a hose on the back patio if you need it. If you do get sand in the shower I appreciate you wiping it out, as sand causes horrible plumbing challenges! Please read the printed pages in your room, there is a lot of info I need you to understand and benefit from! Mahalo
I love staying with Cecily. Her place is my home away from home! The Turtle room is clean, spacious, has a comfy bed, lots of closet space. I loved sitting out on the lanai. Cecily is the best host, she knows all the good spots in town for food, drinks, music, dancing, beaches, etc. This was my second stay with her, and I already look forward to staying with her again when I'm back in Kona!
Cecily went out of her way to make us feel welcome and was VERY helpful in giving us tips about things to do in Hawaii! Like having a private travel advisor! She even had snacks prepared when we arrived late. Highly recommend! Cecily knows everything about her island.
Cecily was a warm and welcoming host, even during the holidays with all the special volunteer work she was doing, she took the time to go above and beyond the means to make us feel welcome. She was very knowledgeable about the island and Kona.
The room and place was accommodating with amenities that could be enjoyed and appreciated by the right guest. Hot tub was awesome, bed was very cozy and the room was personalized so we felt comfortable.
I had a great stay in the Turtle Room, Cecily is a friendly and welcoming host and was on hand to recommend the best beaches and restaurants around Kona. My only disappointment was that i couldn't spend more time on the western side of the island in the sun! Mahalo!
I had once more a wonderful stay in the Turtle Room. It was like last time cozy, clean and comfortable. At this stay I met Cecily and I was very thrilled about her. Cecily was a great host and very accommodating. She shared with me from their many things she know about the islands and diet and nutrition. I would recommend this accommodation to other travellers. I want to go there at every time if I would look for accommodation in Kailua-Kona.
Cecily was an amazing host. Very warm welcome, recommendations for everything, a great cook. The room is very nicely decorated with fresh flowers and fruits as a welcome. You have your own bathroom, the patio is nice to eat and chill. Additionally she provides all the necessities for the beach: Towel, Chair, Boogie Board, Sunshade...
And you are just a 3min. drive from downtown Kona where you find everything. If you stay in Kona and search for a place to stay: I would strongly recommend Cecily's place!
Cecily was an incredible host. From the first moment she gave the feeling to be at home with delicious fruits, always a smile and help when needed. I didn't feel very well during my stay. So she gave me immediately good medicin. THANK YOU, Cecily. The turtel room with a seperate bathroom was so cozy and beautiful and very clean. I loved staying there.

I am a happy hearted, conscience lady who likes to have fun! I am "dancing along to the songs of my soul" which is why I live in Kailua-Kona! This is the most amazing island. Such a variety of things to do and see. It is more laid back with less traffic than any other island, and has more to offer, (except big department stores, for that kind of shopping you want Honolulu)! My passion is cooking and entertaining, enjoying a passion fruit margarita on the patio with you or friends, dancing to the great local bands who performing just 1 mile down the road at great ocean side restaurants and bars, I love swimming with the wild Dolphins, and.... of course, going to my favorite beaches for sunning, playing in the waves and snorkeling. I am easy to talk to, please just ask if you need anything! I am known to have it! I am eager to give you my guidance to great places to eat, site see, the best farmers markets, fabulous Kona coffee, nightly entertainment and how to get to Costco! :)
Welcome to my humble sweet home.
