The1930s house was renovated in 2011 and is situated at the foothills of the Comeragh mountains. It is a short walk to the river Suir and Killaloan churchyard from the house. There are beautiful mountain walks in the Comeragh's and Slievnamon nearby. The house is just two miles from Kilsheelan village and three miles from Clonmel, where you have a range of restaurants, pubs and shops. We are also very close to historic, Cahir, Cashel and the beautiful Nire valley. The property is only half an hour drive to Kilkenny and Waterford and the sea. Cork is one hour south and Dublin is approx. 2.5 hours. There are a range of activities available nearby such as horse riding, hiking and walking, canoeing, fishing, golf and surfing in nearby Tramore.
Killaloan is a hidden gem that myself and my boyfriend had the absolute delight of finding through airbnb. On booking I knew we were not going to be disappointed but to be greeted by champagne and chocolates in our room to a bathroom filled with top of the range products, this really is a five star hidden retreat. The room was only the start of it. June and Tom have created this show house that words really can't explain-you really HAVE to go to see it for yourself! On arrival we sat with the interesting and charasmatic Kennedys over tea and freshly homemade scones and jams. The scones and jams were only the start to the fabulous food we had the pleasure of eating on our break in Kilaloan. If the breakfast is available to order on your stay here-you MUST get your order in for the feast that will set you up for the day! From homemade juices to full irish fry ups to more delicious scones-I don't think il ever see my boyfriend's eyes light up as bright at a breakfast table like I did both mornings on our stay. Back to the room-this bright, modern yet traditional room with crisp white bed sheets and beautiful views out the window and a state of the art bathroom can not be topped by any hotel in my opinion. I am very keen to try out new places through airbnb and not go back to the same places but writing this review I am finding myself thinking of when myself and my boyfriend can return-it's that good!!!!

I am originally from Fethard in Co. Tipperary. I have spent time living in Zambia, The United States and France, but have spent most of my life living in Clonmel. My partner and I renovated and extended this 1930s house and apartment in 2011. Love nature, gardening, spirituality, food, and travel.
