About This Listing
Super-sized apt. with huge bedroom (about 2x size of hotel room) in a quiet, safe neighborhood away from the tourist crowds (yet easily accessible by public transportation). Nature Lover's Dream- next to the Golden Gate Park, GG Bridge, beaches, etc.
Looking for a peaceful, memorable stay in a unique apartment with charm?
Escape the noisy tourist crowds of downtown and rent out my entire spacious apartment located in San Francisco's safe & quiet Richmond/Seacliff neighborhood.
Large (by SF standards anyway) at almost 1000 sq feet, my apartment features a huge bedroom, which is about 2x the size of an average hotel room (in fact, the bedroom alone is as large as some entire studio apartments in SF!)
Only a 5-10 minute walk to some of best views in the city: Lands End trail, Baker & China beaches (and Lincoln Golf Course and Legion of Honor). Also about a 5-10 minute walk south to Golden Gate Park. For a longer- and absolutely stunning--walk, you can stroll along with bay all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge (which is next to Chrissy Field, my favorite outdoor part of the city).
Plenty of dining options for all budgets just a few blocks away on Clement Street and Geary Avenue. Richmond neighborhood has a large ethnic population (especially Asian and Russian)-- lots of international restaurants, shops, cafes, etc.
-- Bedroom is spacious (about 17 x 15 feet) with queen Tempur-pedic bed.
-- Living room also large (12.5 x 17 ft) with 37" HD TV and DVD player.
-- Netflix and other Roku streaming (no cable)
-- Dry cleaner across street (wash & fold laundry service for under $1/pound).
-- 4 short blocks away from SF's first Fresh & Easy supermarket (UK Tesco chain) and CVS drugstore
The Richmond/Seacliff neighborhood is one of the safest and quietest in the city (away from the dense and frankly, seedy, elements closer to downtown). Traditionally this neighborhood was largely European (Russian)...today it's one of the most diverse in the city, with a range of Asian and other restaurants and shops (including the Clement Street district, which is sometimes called "New Chinatown"-- catered to locals though, not like the ultra-tourisy Chinatown). I'm just a block away from the swanky Seacliff 'hood (where Sharon Stone and Robin Williams were long-time residents).
1 block from Geary #38 (express) and California #1 buses that go directly to downtown to the heart of SF action (Financial district/Embarcadero/Market Street, Union Square shopping, South of Market, Chinatown, etc).
Other Things to Note
** NOTE ** Parking spot is on the street (see photo with white Toyota Prius). It is legal to block one's own garage...however the spot requires the use of the small curb so caveat: it's not 100% guaranteed because (very) rarely a motorcycle or tiny Smarte car will use the small section of curb, preventing my spot from being used (feel free to read past guest reviews--virtually no problems with using parking spot). Also note, street cleaning on 2nd and 4th Friday (9-11am).

Mike's apartment in SF is huge and very comfortable. Conveniently located near restaurants and supermarkets and a short, scenic drive to the GGB and surrounding tourist attractions.
Although we didn't meet Mike as he was out of town, he was very accommodating and flexible, and available to contact by phone if necessary. Thanks for having us Mike.
Mike was a wonderful host. We had such a great time in an amazing apartment. Perfect location, walking distance to the beach, nice restaurants around. We had a perfect start for our holiday. We enjoyed our stay there.
Mike's been a great host. He was there to greet and welcome us at the apartment and showed us around, answered any questions we had. His apartment is in a prime location since most of the tourist attractions are minimum 10 and maximum 30 mins away. We enjoyed our stay there.
Mike's apartment is peaceful and filled with lovely touches - from the ink drawings to the crystals. If you want to experience a nice Victorian apartment in SF, this is a great start (the lever that opens the front door was a cool old touch).
There's a few neat restaurants nearby - I recommend the Mediterranean place and the access to the parks is fantastic. If you're looking to stay away from it all this is a great space.
If you're into partying, this may not be the space for you, since the floors are thin and you don't want to disturb the downstairs neighbors.
Mike was super responsive, flexible and make sure the schedules worked out. I give him an A for communication.
I had a great stay at Mike's apartment in San Francisco. Very smooth logistics - Mike met me at the apartment to show me round. The apartment is very comfortable and has lots of room which is great for an extended stay - I was there for two weeks. Having a parking space is very useful and pretty rare in San Francisco. And a good location close to China Beach and Baker Beach - great for a barefoot walk on the sand (with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge) after a long day of meetings! Would definitely stay at Mike's again when I'm back in San Francisco.
Mike was a wonderful host. He was kind, laid back, and responsive. His apartment is beautiful and very spacious. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!
