About this listing
We are happy to share our home with visitors who seek country tranquility and a warm, friendly family atmosphere. The rooms are light and airy with views of our garden.
We purchased this beautiful antique home in 2012 as a family home. It had previously been run as a B&B and we now feel inclined to share this beautiful home with others. Magnificent gardens surround the house and stone pathways meander throughout the garden. Our music room/library is a cozy place to hang out and our guests are welcome to join us in the living areas.
Deana cooks a nutritious homemade breakfast from the bounty of our local organic and biodynamic farm.
We are a short walk to a stunning waterfall and hiking and skiing trails abound. Our guests enjoy nearby tennis, swimming, berry picking downhill skiing, theater, galleries and restaurants.
Guests are also welcome to join our family for dinner (previous reservation is appreciated.) We enjoy engaging in lively conversation over good food and glass of wine and frequently host friends and family. Our guests are always welcome to join.
There is wifi throughout the house , but we don't own a television.
There is a bathroom with a tub (no shower) directly across the hall from this room. Two showers on the same floor are available to guests.
A futon can be placed on the floor of this room to accommodate an extra guest ($15 surcharge.)
Interaction with Guests
Deana, Bruce or Isabel will often join guests at breakfast and enjoy sharing stories with those who are so inclined but are always respectful of your privacy.
Wilton is a friendly, old-fashioned rural New England community. It has an active yoga studio, great library and art supply store and a handful of lovely shops. Home to the famous Wilton Town Hall Theater, (the popcorn has real butter) there is always a wonderful film playing.
Public transportation is not an option in our rustic area. Folks love to bring their bikes, kayaks and paddle boards. There are numerous trails and places to enjoy nature. The roads and driveways are well plowed in winter!
Other Things to Note
Deana has maintained a Zen Shiatsu massage practice for over 25 years. Appointments can be arranged either at home or in her office in Peterborough.
The most important rule -let me know if you need anything to make your stay more comfortable.

There is no smoking in the house, and food is not encouraged in the bedrooms.
Guests are welcome to sit in the meditation room located on the third floor, but please remove your shoes.
My most made me feel welcome by being home when I arrived and showing me her home. The pictures of her home are accurate. The gardens are beautiful and extensive and the neighborhood is peaceful and quiet.
It was the hospitality of Deana and her family that made my trip to New Hampshire such a wonderful and memorable experience. She and her family welcomed me not only into their home but also into their lives. One night a most imaginative puppet show at the Waldorf School, another watching a movie in their living room. Deana’s home is a wonderful oasis of comfort and beauty nestled in a sea of woodland greens. The room was perfect for my stay and Deanna’s breakfasts each day were both delicious and creative. She shared freely of her knowledge of the area as I went about exploring southern New Hampshire and without her guidance I’m sure I would have missed so much that the area had to offer. For great conversation, comfort, and food Deana’s home is the perfect place to stay!
What a perfect oasis tucked away in small town NH! Everything was even better than the listing indicated; Deana and her family made me feel immediately welcome. My room was warm, inviting, and cozy, complete with electric blanket. I enjoyed the tub and the meditation room, and I have to say that Deana is a top-notch chef. A hot and scrumptious breakfast both mornings, along with homemade chai with local milk and honey, were certainly worth waking up for. The family invited me to a join them for local talent show, which I enjoyed immensely. Wireless throughout the house meant that I could get some work done. Many nice touches made the stay memorable, and I truly enjoyed getting to know this warm, interesting family. I enthusiastically recommend staying with Deana the next time you're visiting Wilton or the surrounding area!
It was a joy staying at Deana's house for 4 nights. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I really enjoyed the atmosphere in the bright and airy dining area. The skylights and large windows made me feel like I was sitting outside enjoying the fall foliage colours while eating breakfast. The food was outstanding, not only delicious, but also healthy!
My 2nd time at Deana's house was wonderful. It's exactly what I need :) I stayed in the Peacock room this time and loved it! Truly beautiful. It's a twin bed so it wouldn't work for couples, but for a single it's comfy! Looking forward to my next trip in July.
Deana and her family were great! I was so embarrassed when my rental car completely died on me the evening I arrived and the next morning and when the wheels locked up and I couldn't get out of the driveway to hike to the waterfall Deana and her husband had suggested. My goodness, it was stressful! But, Deana and her husband were just so patient and understanding. My room was cosy, breakfast was delicious, and Deana is an interesting/cool person to talk with. :)
Deana is a lovely host and I would stay with her again. The room was comfortable, the garden is breathtaking, breakfast was just what I needed and there was plenty of hot water after days outside in the cold and rain.
