Looking forward to having you down here on the Island!
I have 2 extra bedrooms and 1 extra bathroom, but if I'm out of town for the weekend (which I often am) you can book the master suite as well if you have a lot of people to accommodate, or if you just want to book the entire home for privacy. One of the rooms has a queen bed and is decorated in a palm theme while the other room has a double size futon. You can share the deck, front porch and the rest of the house except the master bedroom and bath (unless we have specifically arranged for you to rent out the entire home). Feel free to use the kitchen as long as you clean up after yourself.
I'm only about 1 mile from the beach for surfing, tanning, swimming and fun in the sun! Plus I'm 2.5 miles from the historic "down town" Strand area. Also the house is less than 4 miles from multiple harbors and boat ramps if you want to sail on Galveston Bay! Stay at my house to make your Galveston Island vacation affordable. Please contact me with any questions you may have! If my house is not available, please contact my friend, Mary at her "Stately Bungalow".
If you will be only booking a room and not the entire house over then weekend days there is a minimum of a 2 nights in low season and 3 night booking in high season. There is no minimum booking for week night stays.
I mentioned earlier that the entire house is available for booking for a 2 night minimum. If you are interested in this arrangement, the rate for booking the entire house starts at $250 per night for the 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home with Jacuzzi tub and double shower heads in the master bath. Also there is a good possibility that my two dogs will still be at the house during that time as I may have nowhere to take them. They are super friendly and stay in the kitchen with a doggie door to the outside, and if you needed to use the kitchen and didn’t want them around during that time you could always put them outside and shut the doggie door for a short while. If you are a dog friendly family this would work great, although if you are not pet friendly this may not be the right option for you. Thanks for looking through my listing. Check out my pictures and my Guidebook, and please contact me with any questions you may have!
I give a free $25 coupon for a Galveston Island hotel restaurant with your booking. I also have a Moody Garden’s coupon and a ½ off NASA coupon if you wanted to go by there.
FYI - There is a 6% State Hotel Tax and a 9% City Hotel Tax that I must pay with every booking that is less than 30 days. These taxes are already included in my current rates that you see listed. Thanks!
Jeanna is wonderful. The house is fantastic, and the "girls" are so sweet. As we will probably be visiting the island several times in the coming four years, Jeanna's place(s) will be at the top of our list.
I arrived from Houston, after a conference there. The island is so quaint - sort of a throw-back to earlier times, which is very refreshing from the hustle of Houston. Jeanna is such a welcoming host - providing all of the information you'll need to handle anything that comes up at the house - and lots of great ideas about getting around. I had a car, so drove all the way down to the West End of the island the first full day there, which is really beautiful - lots of birds! The town has plenty to do - I took the free ferry - which for an east-coaster, free is amazing. The Island Cottage is very comfortable - even in the heat - and is easy to find (right across from a large, historic cemetery). I'd definitely return here if I get back to G-ton.
Staying at Jeanna's was wonderful! Everything was just how is was described and was a wonderful alternative to a standard hotel. Having access to a full kitchen was one of our favorite parts. Her "girls" are wonderful pups and were a joy to spend evenings with. I look forward to my next stay at Jeanna's, her location was ideal for biking to either side of the island for entertainment and she even thought of leaving suggestions! She seems to have thought of everything and was very responsive to any questions we had. She was a wonderful host and her island cottage was just as wonderful. Thanks, Jeanna!
Jeanna was a wonderful host! House was gorgeous and I would definitely stay here again!
We had a wonderful time with Jeanna and her two "girls" Cookie and Ginger. The neighborhood was a quiet residential area. Her two dogs were the very well behaved and very friendly. Jeanna and Troy were friendly and pleasant to be around, even though they were gone most of the time during our stay. I would recommend her home to anyone wanting a nice place to stay.
Although we never personally met with Jeanna, she was very communicative and personally ensured that all of our needs were met. The house is quaint, yet charming, and her dogs are beautiful and friendly (we're dog people). Even if you are not overly fond of dogs, they keep a barrier between the kitchen and the central living areas. We had no problems getting in and out of the house, and Jeanna was even kind enough to leave us a splendid suggestion to a local restaurant. If we return to Galveston, we will definitely stay with Jeanna again.
Loved this island cottage! My girlfriend and I had a great weekend and enjoyed our stay with Jeanna! We will definitely be back for another stay!
Jeanna has a sweet house in Galveston. She was very pleasant and easy to work with. The bedroom was comfy and the bathroom across the dining room was clean. Her two dogs were well behaved and easy to be with. Jeanna guided me to two good restaurants and was very helpful in orienting me to Galveston.
We checked in late, but had absolutely no issues. Jeanna was very accommodating. Our roomies for the weekend (her two dogs) were quite the greeters! The house was clean and centrally located; the strand to the north and the seawall to the south. We loved the house charm and the décor. We were minutes from everything. We didn’t spend much time in the house, but it’s a great place to unwind and the back has an awesome deck. We’ll definitely come back!
We had a great stay at Jeanna's house! Between spring break and cheer competitions, it was really hard to find a place to stay so I got really lucky finding this one! It sure did beat being stuck in an overpriced, little hotel room with 3 kids. We went out to her suggested favorite spots for lunch and cooked dinner at home. The dogs were great and weren't a problem. We met Jeanna on her way out and had the place to ourselves the entire weekend. Her house was filled with memories of her travels which was really neat. I would definitely stay here again!
