Enjoy our cozy late 1800’s log cabin just outside of Roanoke. It's the best of old meets luxurious new. Warm, comfy, well appointed and oh-so convenient! Minutes to the city, hiking, winery, Blue Ridge Parkway, airport and Interstate I-81. 10% discount for weekly or 15% discount for monthly stays!
* During this time of COVID 19, we are following CDC and Airbnb disinfecting protocols in addition to our usual cleaning protocols.

The space
The Cabin is designed to graciously accommodate 1-2 guests. It’s far enough away, but just close enough to everything that the city has to offer. Roanoke City, I-81, the Blue Ridge Parkway, mountain biking, and the Appalachian Trail are all 15-20 minutes away. Winery, restaurants, grocery store and hiking are even closer. The Cabin is centrally located, but with a country vibe and room to stretch out.
Luxurious Queen-size bed with iron headboard, morning coffee on the covered porch listening to the songbirds and watch the wildlife. The authentic 100+ year old log cabin is a cozy 700 square feet and perfect for a romantic get-away for 2, quiet space to conduct business, or for the weary traveler to unwind in peace.
The Cabin has been completely remodeled from top to bottom and boasts all modern amenities including central heat and air, extra insulation, large closet, plantation blinds, LED lighting, fridge with ice-maker, smooth top range, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer combo, in-wall USB charging ports for your devices, and so much more!
Dim the lights and de-stress with a book and a glass of wine in the vintage 1933 claw-foot tub or enjoy the tile shower with endless hot water courtesy of our on-demand, energy efficient tank-less water heater.
The Kitchen features a full array of pots, pans, utensils, small appliances, oils and spices. We keep an assortment of teas and coffee stocked as well. Kroger grocery store is a short 5 minute drive away, with everything you could need as well as an outstanding wine and beer assortment, even a deli and tap room with sandwiches and drafts.
If the weather is bad or you just feel like staying in, we have a 55" 4k Smart TV with Netflix and YouTube TV for local and national channels, including most news and sports channels. There is a wireless Bluetooth sound bar for music in the house, using your device or TV music app. Also, an assortment of board games, cards, checkers, and chess, and paperbacks including hiking, biking, paddling and Blue Ridge Parkway guides. But best of all, porch sitting and listening to rain on the tin roof is an excellent way to spend an afternoon!

Where you’ll be

Cave Spring, Virginia, United States

The Cabin is located in the Poages Mill area of SW Roanoke County. Roanoke City limits are 3.5 miles from The Cabin and it is accessed by US 221, which is a direct artery into
the city. Poages Mill is a very quiet and safe place to stay, visit, and live. Our area is very old, settled in the 1740’s, many houses are near or well
over a hundred years old. We have lived here for many, many years and love it.
The Cabin is located on the property where we live, but has its own entrance and parking, and is private. It is approximately 100’ from our house with a buffer of trees between the two. The porch on The Cabin has roll down privacy /sunscreens on both the street side and our house side if you desire additional privacy.
Although The Cabin is located on a short dead end road and has a country feel, we are in a small and close knit neighborhood. The neighbors are friendly and kind, so please return the favor and refrain from outdoor loud or late night activities. Everyone nearby works during the week, or is retired, so please be thoughtful. Come and go as you would at home. Please drive very slowly on our street, it is narrow and there is a blind curve at the top of the hill.

During your stay

We like to give guests their privacy. We live nearby on the property, but our house has a separate entrance. We have busy schedules, so often we are not there at your arrival time. If we are home, we may pop in soon after your arrival just to introduce ourselves and answer any questions. If we are not home, we are available by phone or text, or there will be an emergency contact number provided.
