Designed by a retired French professor (my mother) your private bedroom suite reflects her love of all things beautiful. Think Oriental carpets and original artworks. From harried intern to world traveler, short or extended stay--this space is perfect.

The space
Your apartment is a 750 sq. ft. addition to the main house which gives you the sense of enjoying a whole relaxing world of your own... Totally at your disposal (separate from the main house) is a sunlit three-seasons porch for morning coffee or evening happy hour, spacious living room, convenient little kitchen with full complement of cooking utensils... You have a two burner yacht-style electric cooktop and undercounter refrigerator (also a small freezer as you enter the three season's porch.) Full-size oven is new and deluxe...microwave all new too. (2020)

The Euro style Water Closet in the bedroom suite area is separate from the main shower room and vanity area. This allows two guests to conveniently get ready for the day... or evening at the same time .
Even guests looking for a weekly or a one-month rental would find that the space offers all they need for living, lounging, and working.

Guest access
You will have access to the whole rear addition to the two-story main house. Just let me know if you need access to secure storage space for bikes or other extra gear.

Other things to note
Reeds Lake is only 5 minutes away, and we are happy to let our guests have the use of our two SUPs and kayak.

Ottawa Hills neighborhood is an idyllic walking neighborhood. The architecture and landscaping of every house is different, and Hall Street Bakery (actually a bakery, coffee shop, eatery and libation station) is only blocks away. It is minutes from downtown, Eastown, Gaslight Village and Reeds Lake, but is green, quiet and throughly charming.

I'm retired from French teaching , Social Work, and baking ....but still active in all those things. From Peace Corps days I still have a preference for new experiences, new people, new foods and new languages. My husband, Ben, is an English professor who grew up in Wyoming and Montana and prefers fly fishing to any other pass time. We have hosted travelers, interns, visiting academics and young people all our married lives and can't wait to start hosting with Airbnb.

Micheline was a baker in another life so just let her know at the time you réserve if you want scones or some house made granola.
