Your summer cool-down strategy: When the day cools off, the Stargazing Hot Tub Experience begins. A private soak under dark skies, surrounded by six acres of open valley between Joshua Tree and Pioneertown. Get in after dark to look up. The tub faces a panorama view of the desert, positioned for night sky immersion and morning shade. Sleep soundly in an artist-renovated 1950s cabin with thoughtful details.

The space
Mornings start with spying quail and roadrunners in the brush, then coffee on the patio while the hills turn gold.

By afternoon the house becomes the cool retreat. Two AC units and blackout shades keep the bedroom and living room comfortable through the day.

Then when night falls and the stars come out, it's time to head outside for the hot tub. Slip into the water as the sky opens up overhead. Linger for as long as you want.

This 1950s homestead was hand-built, then renovated with an artist's eye. The details are intentional throughout: vintage fixtures, organic textures, a record player.

• Pet Friendly: Yes we're pet friendly! One well-behaved dog allowed with a $60 pet fee, paid at time of booking. No dogs on the furniture. Dogs cannot be left alone in the house (unless crated) or in the yard. Please dispose of any pet waste. Failure to follow above rules may result in additional remediation fees.

• Joshua Tree is a rural desert area and may experience extreme weather, including heat, storms, and heavy rain. We are not responsible for weather-related impacts or utility interruptions, including power outages. Guests are responsible for planning accordingly.

• Please review our cancellation policy closely. If you’re worried about the possibility that you may need to cancel after the refund period is closed we highly recommend adding travel insurance to your booking.

• We are on fiber high speed internet -- stable high speeds means great for remote working and video calls!

Neighborhood highlights

The Hi Desert Ranch is located in an area known as "The Mesa" by the locals. Folks are drawn to its wide-open desert vistas, long light and amazing sunsets. Most properties are on 5-acre lots, with lots of open desert in between, so houses are more scattered about. At night you'll definitely see more stars than neighboring house lights. Wildlife abounds, it's a true treat to be so immersed in the beauty of this beautiful desert.
