A lovely room in our quiet family home, with a great position for exploring central Rome, and then a nice quiet place to relax away from the crowds.
Large double room in good location - on the bus 44 route - 10 mins to Piazza Venezia, the host is an English lady, who is happy to supply tourist information and assistance where possible. Internet access is available, and full use of kitchen for meals outside of breakfast. The apartment is located on a busy road with two supermarkets within 5 mins walk, but is quiet.
A warm welcome awaits in Monteverde - 10 mins walk to the huge local park, great for picnics and relaxing walks. Lots of shops nearby and 10 mins by bus to a large local outdoor market for amazing fresh food.
What makes a stay especially nice at my place is the warm welcome, big comfy bed in a nice quiet room, and a good quality breakfast of cereal, croissants and jam, fresh fruit, fruit juice, yoghurts and tea and coffee of course. Any if you have any special requirements, please let me know and I will do my best to organise it.
Please ask if you want use of a Pram, or Bikes, as I may be able to sort this for you.
I often cook dinner together with my guests at least one evening of their stay.
Monteverde is real rome, so it reflects how real italians live. It is on the direct bus line 44 into town, so you can be there in 15 minutes and see the Colosseum and famous sites. We have supermarkets and shops closeby as well as good restaurants.
We are on the 44 bus route, which goes to Piazza Venezia, the centre of town. It is also on the 871 route directly from Roma Trastevere train station, which is useful from Fiumicino airport.
There are tennis courts nearby if you want to play.
You are welcome to play the piano in the flat.

We had a great pleasure to meet Melanie Solden and stay at her's. She gave us a friendly welcome and helpfull advices. We hope to see her forward maybe at Grenoble !
Melanie is a friendly and nice woman. She introduced us to the neighborhood and gave good tips. The bedroom was clean and the bed was good. You feel very at home. Her flat is in a good location with easy access by bus. She has a sweet and inquisitive daughter. We really had a great week at her home.
We spent 5 days at Melanie's house at the beginning of March and it was a real pleasure. Melanie gave us really good tips to visit Rome. Her daughter Georgia was cute. We learned her some french while she learned us some italian words. Melanie's flat is well located in a quiet area. We like walking and it was not difficult to reach the city center by foot. In case, the bus 44 can get you to the Theatro di Marcello in 15 minutes which is really nice. By nights, we used to come back by foot through Trastevere which was really nice. The house and the bedroom are clean and the bed is confortable. We were a bit disappointed when we discovered that the view from the bedroom was on a wall, but finally, since we did not spent so much time at home, it was not a problem at all. We recommend the Capuccino in the caffe less than 1 minute walk from the flat. Around the flat, you can find a supermarket and places to find bus and metro tickets. Overall, we really enjoyed our time there and we recommend Melanie as a host. Thank you Melanie and Georgia for the time we spend together!

Our time with Melanie and her daughter Giorgia was really nice and fun. Mel is a kind and caring woman who gave us great advice and handy tips about Rome.
Also they don't live far away from Trastevere and all the sightseeing places so we could just walk everywhere.
We definitely enjoyed staying with them and spent some great evenings together talking or cooking :)
If we ever go back we would definitely stay there again.
All the best,
Laura and Freddy
Staying here at Melanie's was a very pleasant experience. She was a very warm, kind, friendly and caring host. We felt welcome in her home. Instructions given to her place were detailed and that made it easy for us to reach our destination. She gave us ideas, suggestions and directions to things and places to go which was helpful since we did not have much time. Would have stayed there longer if time permits. Thank you Mel.
Our stay in Rome with Melanie was lovely! Our room was clean and with plenty of space to unpack. A big bonus for us was that the room is very quiet and we slept like angels. :) The location is great, using the 44 bus it's only a short hop to the old centre of Rome. Mel was even kind enough to let us borrow two bicycles to venture onto the Via Appia Antica.
Mel sets a very diverse breakfast table, she even catered to our gluten-free needs. The tips for local restaurants, museums and markets where all spot-on. Would definitely visit again!
Thanks Mel and Georgia for a great week in Rome!
Staying at Melanie has been a real pleasure, the room as well as whole apartment is very spacious with warm atmosphere (strenghtened by kids paintings :) ). Both girla are fun and charming. Unfortunately we didn't get enough time to talk but we catch up next time :) The location is also worth mentioned, Not far from the city center, placed on the top of the hill with spectacular view - Vatican, ancient part, the center and adorable Trastevere. So go fot it!
