A lovely room in our quiet family home, with a great position for exploring central Rome, and then a nice quiet place to relax away from the crowds.
Large double room in good location - on the bus 44 route - 10 mins to Piazza Venezia, the host is an English lady, who is happy to supply tourist information and assistance where possible. Internet access is available, and full use of kitchen for meals outside of breakfast. The apartment is located on a busy road with two supermarkets within 5 mins walk, but is quiet.
A warm welcome awaits in Monteverde - 10 mins walk to the huge local park, great for picnics and relaxing walks. Lots of shops nearby and 10 mins by bus to a large local outdoor market for amazing fresh food.
What makes a stay especially nice at my place is the warm welcome, big comfy bed in a nice quiet room, and a good quality breakfast of cereal, croissants and jam, fresh fruit, fruit juice, yoghurts and tea and coffee of course. Any if you have any special requirements, please let me know and I will do my best to organise it.
Please ask if you want use of a Pram, or Bikes, as I may be able to sort this for you.
Interaction with Guests
as much or as little as you want.
Monteverde is real rome, so it reflects how real italians live. It is on the direct bus line 44 into town, so you can be there in 15 minutes and see the Colosseum and famous sites. We have supermarkets and shops closeby as well as good restaurants.
We are on the 44 bus route, which goes to Piazza Venezia, the centre of town. It is also on the 871 route directly from Roma Trastevere train station, which is useful from Fiumicino airport.
Other Things to Note
There are tennis courts nearby if you want to play.
You are welcome to play the piano in the flat.
no smoking inside the house
My personal view is the best region to live somebody not in the center and not far away from the center. Only 15 minutes by bus. Very safe region to live and very safe house with safety lock, very comfortable also and i will not forget that miss Melanie made us to feel like our home. Thank you once again miss Melanie.

Melanie was a great host - very friendly and provides tips for things we might enjoy in Rome. The room was a good size and very quiet, and the apartment is in a nice and safe area. Breakfast was great and Melanie was very relaxed about letting us use her washing machine. Only criticism was that there was no wifi but we were able to use Melanie's computer so there was some internet access. Thanks for a great stay!
It was a pleasure, and thanks for coming. Regarding wifi , have a read of this when you have time....(website hidden)
This is why I took out the WIFI. There are lots of sceptics of course, but I am playing it safe. Take care, and hope you have fun on the rest of your trip.
Melanie is a warm and gracious host, informing us about the city life, tourist traps, attractions that were under repair or closed, saving us both time and money. She also let us know about the best sightseeing in Rome and the best eating in her neighbourhood. It was a pleasure to meet her and her multilingual daughter. The room was clean and uncluttered. On the downside the Internet was ADSL and was kept in her daughter's room, so it didn't make for uninhibited access or for a fast connection. We would stay there again.
We stayed for 4 nights at Melanie's house. It was lovely! Melanie is a kind and sweet person who makes you feel at home. She was very helpfull with giving us info about Rome. The breakfasts were nice, there was always enough. I wish there was more time to talk to eachother and get to know eachother more but we had long, busy days in Rome.
The walk from the city centre to Melanie's house was pretty long and steep (20 to 25 minutes up). But we took the bus back to the house, no problem.
The walk down is no problem, you can see something of the neighberhood.
We had a great time at the house of Melanie and Georgia! Thanks for that!
Melanie communicated well before our visit giving us clear instructions to reach the accommodation. On arrival, we were made to feel very welcome and had a cup of tea while Melanie talked us through how to get around Rome, sights to see and what to avoid.
We were only in Rome for 2 Days but had a wonderful time and felt as if we had made a new friend by the time we left.
