Looking for an authentic French house on top of the world's most charming village with a fantastic view from the roof top terrace and classic French style then this is the place for you.
Fantastic rustic and authentic old French house kept in a classic old style. The house has several levels only accessible from the outside stairs which makes it perfect for share - for instance for two families. The original layout of the house is kept intact which means that the sleeping arrangements are best suited for two families (for instance 4 adults and 4 kids) due to the open rooms.
The guest will have access to the whole house by themselves.
Interaction with Guests
We are not in the area so the keys will be available in a key box. We have someone in the village who can help out in case of an emergency.
Roquebrun is often referred to as Petit Nice with it's special climate and lush river banks. The village itself is nestled up the mountain side with it's charming old houses and is an impressive sight when you drive across the old bridge crossing the river Orb. There are plenty of things to do if you want a more active holiday - plenty of signed hikes, kayaking and canoeing from right across the river and you can try cross country scooters. If you want a more relaxed time then swimming in the river or just relaxing and enjoying French cuisine at one of the restaurants in the village.
You can get to the village by bus from Beziers, but it is a lot easier to get around if you have a car. There are a private double parking space right in front of the house. The village is easy to reach from a couple of the bigger airports like Montpellier, Marseille and Barcelona.
Other Things to Note
The house is not suitable for very small children or people with walking disabilities due to the many stairs outside.
Cleaning is included in the price, but you are expected to sweep the terrace, clean the BBQ after use, fill up and start the dish washer so there are no dishes left and put all used linen and towels in a pile for the cleaners to access easily.
We spent four fantastic days in Roquebrun. The village is precious and we found very friendly peoble there. Our host, Jonas, has been very attentive with us as much before our stay as during and after it. The house is very beautiful, every tiny detail has been thought out with the utmost care. We have really enjoyed to stay there and we would like to hardly recommend it both for a familly and a group of friends.
We are a little family that currently lives in Melbourne Australia, but has a fantastic summer house in the south of France. We love to travel and do outdoor things - we are learning to surf an de all love food.
