Nice small room in a shared apartment in a quiet area close to the subway.
A nice small room, on a quiet street, in a safe district that's well connected to everything in Cambridge and Boston. The room was decorated as a nursery for my then newborn daughter.
The room has a "queen size" bed, which can comfortably fit two people. The bed would be quite tight for three people. An additional "twin size" air mattress in the room, where one more person can comfortably sleep (or two, very uncomfortably). However, once this extra air mattress is used, the room becomes tiny, with little space to stand. You may of course stand, sit and chill out in the living room and other common areas of the house, but your private space will be small. In summary, if you need a lot of private space, this room fits two. If you don't, it fits four. If you're young and have high tolerance for being crammed up, I've had a group of five happily sleep there — though really I don't recommend more than three. (People often ask me.)
For a better rate, contact me directly. You can find me by searching the G for "QuietCambridgeRooms".
Guests can self checkin and checkout at any time: each room has its own numeric access code, that also opens the apartment, but not other rooms.
Be warned that the apartment is on the second floor. There is no elevator, and there are 22 steps of stairway.
Rooms are rented from noon to noon. If you arrive early or depart late, you may leave your luggage in the office — not in the room.
You will have access to the kitchen and living room.
Interaction with guests
I live most of the time in NYC. I have a complete guide to help you, I have helpers in Cambridge who clean the house, and I will try to dispatch help if there's an emergency; but I am not usually available to assist you during your stay.
You will share a common bathroom with guests staying in the Guest Room (aka Sunny and quiet room). That other room might be empty during low season, but is more likely to be packed during high season. I do NOT recommend this room if you have high standards of privacy or of availability regarding the bathroom. (Try my Large Master Room if available.)
Please be considerate of the other occupants of the apartment, and of neighbors living in other floors or nearby houses.
Be sure to lock the doors behind you. You will be held responsible if you leave the apartment door unlocked, in case of theft of your, my or other guests' property.

Other things to note
I wrote an extensive guide to the place. The URL to access the GUIDE, as well as your ACCESS CODE to access the house, will be included in the confirmation email that AirBnB sends you when you book. READ THE GUIDE. You will have a good time if you do. If you fail to READ THE GUIDE, you will have a bad time, I will have a bad time, we will both have a bad time, and I WILL CHARGE YOU $50 EXTRA. Did I mention that you should READ THE GUIDE? If I didn't, please note that you should definitely READ THE GUIDE.
VERY IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THE GUIDE!
It will answer all your questions, and more.
IF YOU FAIL TO READ THE GUIDE, I WILL CHARGE YOU $50 EXTRA.

I'm an intellectual and I enjoy a wide range of discussions.
As far as housekeeping goes, I'm fairly lax. As long as you follow basic rules of hygiene and good behavior, be happy the way you are.
PS: if you're in Boston and have time, don't miss the Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum.
