It depends on the day and what is going on in our schedules.... Some days we are able to hang out and chat or share a pisco drink and sometimes you will only see us briefly. Walking distance to restaurants, banks, parks, mall, zoo, supermarkets, and is not super touristy like Miraflores and Barranco. You get a more local feel on this side of the city, yet it is a very safe and friendly area.
We have a driver that can take you around for a very reasonable price, or we can call you a taxi. If you are a bit more adventurous you can get a taxi on the street or take the buses.
I booked the room but did not stay, no layover was needed. I don't have a lot to go on other than communication exchanges. Kelly's communication was very clear, frequent, friendly and she seems to know how to host guests.
Beto the airport taxi man was right on time, super friendly and helpful. We had a great conversation about 60's music! I was delivered quickly to a wonderful home, clean, bright, well appointed, plenty of hot water, TV, WiFi, they have it all. And a great smile from the host. It is walking distance to the zoo, a large mall, many restaurants. Perfect for me for my 1-night stay. And Kelly was so helpful to walk me around and let me know all I needed to know. The shower was oh so hot and the bed was oh so comfortable. I really liked this place and would stay again and would stay longer. Thanks Kelly and Christian and Ezekiel.
We had a pleasant stay there and felt very safe, the winter managers Andy and Dunia were fantastic and very helpful. Its not too far from Lima Airport or the main Bus terminals just a short cab ride for each and there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.
The wifi connection is good and the living quarters are pleasant and very useable, the other guess were all great too, would definitely use them again.
By far the best part of my stay was chatting with the driver, Beto. He picked me up at 11pm at the Lima airport and dropped me off the following morning at 6am. So, my stay was very short, and I was glad.
I never met Christian and Kelly, only Andy.
First, let me say that I am not obsessive about cleanliness. However, when you paying for a place to stay, there is an expectation of a basic level of cleanliness. The car that Beto picked me up in was not just shabby, it was not clean. I realize Peruvians don't make a lot of money, so I wasn't expecting a brand new Mercedes, but it was a sign of things to come for sure.
Upon arriving, I was met by Andy, who asked me to "pay up" for the taxi service for that night and the next morning because he would not be awake when I left. (I'm not sure why I had to pay him and not Beto directly, since it was a fee beyond what I paid for the room. It made me think that they were taking a cut of Beto's fee.) Andy showed me around and then went to bed. That was all I saw of him.
The room was shabby and you could tell that everything in it had been purchased at least 10 years ago. The pillows were about 1 inch thick and the foam was completely compressed and old. The center of the floor looked as if it had been mopped within the last few months, but the edges near the walls were so dusty, it could have been years since they had been touched. There were black marks on the walls in high-traffic areas of the room. The electrical outlet in the bedroom and the one in the bathroom were hanging out of the wall so you could see the wires. Not safe in a bathroom.
Needless to say, I won't be back. I hope that the owners take some of the fees and buy some new pillows and pay a decent cleaning service. It's the least they can do for their guests.
You arrived very late at night and left very early a few hours later. We always greet our guests and explain everything and make sure everything's good but we can't be awake every morning at 5.30am - this isn't a hotel but a family business. I'm not sure why you are complaining about having to pay for the airport pick-up - did you think it was free?
And we've explained a million times: Beto works for us. Unless otherwise arranged, he is paid handsomely for us. When you book a driver with us (you don't book with the driver), we (not the driver) are tracking your flight and making sure there's someone there if you're delayed.
You might say that you are not obsessive about cleanliness but you do have a listing on airBnB so I think obviously you are going to be looking at our place very critically and comparing it with yours. The room you stayed in was cleaned well that morning and everyone says it's comfortable. - Andy
unfortunately, we only stayed one night. The room was clean and the hosts were very nice. It is close to the airport so exactly what we needed. Thanks guys!
The location, accomodation and breakfast is quite good
This place was very convenient to the airport which was the primary reason for my stay. The pick up and drop off went smooth and the hosts were nice. However, I wouldn't stay here again because of the smell. It reeked of urine. I think that for health purposes it should be noted that clearly the place is not being cleaned appropriately or often. It literally gave me the gag reflex. Even for 7 hours it was hard to stay. If they clean it daily and got rid of the smell I'm sure it would be fine.
It wasn't urine - it was floor polish! The room you stayed in had recently had the wooden floor waxed - the smell shouldn't have been so noticeable. You seemed quite happy and enjoying your meal - we could have swapped rooms if you had complained but you didn't (nor did the other guests), I'm glad everything else was OK and I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip. - Andy
This was a nice and friendly place, with a good breakfast and comfortable rooms, close to the airport; the area is however not ideal if you want to visit the center or the south of Lima!
