The Space

Tall ceilings, simple and comfortable furnishings make for a great base when in New York City. The wonderful deck opens to a quiet backyard, perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine after a day full of discovery.

Saturday is the best day to start off with the Fort Greene farmers' market, at Fort Greene Park, a 10-minute walk. I like to go early in the morning, before 9am, where dogs can roam free in the park. Grab some fresh veggies and cook a mean omelette back at the apartment.

In the afternoon drop by the Brooklyn Flea, three blocks away, for knick knacks or vintage prints.

At night, you fall asleep to the sound of the ruffling leaves of the many old growth trees, and wake up to beautiful sun in the bedroom's east facing windows (there is a blackout shade, too!).

I love the Clinton Hill / Fort Greene neighborhood for its diversity of residents, great restaurants and bars, and laid back attitude.

Great neighborhood bars include Fulton Grand and Hot Bird, both with great craft beer selections, as well as cosy intimate bars for a good cocktail, The Mayflower Social, Hanson Dry.

Restaurant-wise, close by spots include Aita, for deliciously fresh italian fare, Salva Vida, a great taco spot, and all of the offerings of DeKalb's restaurant row (Roman's, General Greene, Ici, etc.).

There is a Citibike station right across the street, and the apartment is equidistant from the C and G train stops.

It's also an easy 10-minutes walk to BAM, Barclays Center, Atlantic Center for the 2,3,4,5,B,D,Q,N,R trains for the whole city, and LIRR for eastbound, Long Island day trips.

Wolfgang, my dog, lives with me and is a hypoallergenic Wheaten Terrier, but is away when I rent out the apartment.

Check In
  • It is the perfect apartment. David is really helpful and uncomplicated. The neighbours are also very friendly. You can also use the couch to sleep on. The surrounding in Brooklyn is pretty nice and the subway is nearby to the flat. It is easy to drive to Manhatten or to the airport. If I come back, I will check in again.

  • David's apartment was great! Exactly as pictured, and David was a great host for my mom. He even bought her an iron and ironing board at her request before she checked in.

  • We were really pleased with this apartment--great value for New York City. Tall ceilings and windows, pretty wooden floors, tastefully modern decor, high-quality furnishings. It's also in a good location and David was a lovely host--very helpful and easy to communicate with.

  • David was awesome. I've tried to book a place for my mother in law and after the initial reservation we had was all of a sudden canceled, David agreed to host us with less than a 8 hour notice. He was extremely flexible, communicative and helpful. We're hoping we can stay there again soon.

  • David's apartment was great and we loved the design. Clinton Hill is just a lovely neighborhood with layed back atmosphere, tasty coffee and nice food. The subway to manhattan is nearby. David was very friendly and helped us so much getting to the airport. Due to winterstorm in NY it wasn't clear how our further travel plans work out. Thank you again, David! Would stay there anytime again.

  • This was my first experience with airbnb and I couldn't be happier. David was very responsive and even allowed my boyfriend and I to drop our bags off before checkin since we arrived into town very early. There was a bottle of wine and a nice note waiting for us when we got to the apartment. David's place is clean, cozy and easy to find. It is close to public transportation and we easily made trips into different areas of the city (mostly Manhattan). The area is quiet and has some great restaurants and cafés. Urban Vintage and Aita were our two favorites. We are happy to recommend David and his place!

  • A perfect little one bed room Apt, in great quiet part of Brooklyn. Place was clean, tidy and very comfortable. David's communication was great and I would highly recommend his lovely place. For my first experience on Air B&B it was smooth and easy.

  • I was a little hesitant to book with Airbnb again. My 1st experience was not very good. This time I was coming in to visit my daughter, and surprise my Granddaughter, so I thought I would try again. I am so glad I did. David made it all worthwhile. He was so kind and helpful, and his place was GREAT!! I had to leave right away to meet my daughter, but when I got back to the apt, David had a bottle of wine waiting for me on the table. When it was time to leave David's place, I had wished I had booked a longer stay. I will definitely be booking with David again. He's a great host, the apartment is cozy, and the neighborhood is wonderful. David, I hope you had a Fantastic time in Turkey!! Thanks again, Cathy

  • David couldn't have been nicer and the apartment was great -- exactly as shown in the pictures. My parents stayed there when they came out for a last-minute trip and it was the perfect solution. Thanks so much!
