We stayed in this beautiful, rural cottage, about 6 kms out of Bantry, for a month and used it as a base to explore Ireland. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cottage is modern, clean and well equipped with a very large comfortable bed and beautiful linen. It is very light and sunny ( when it shines) and the lounge dining area is a great place to relax. The kitchen has everything you need to self cater. We unfortunately did not get to meet Sheila, but she was a wonderful and friendly host, from afar, ensuring every thing we needed, by email and Fairies.
What a place! We stayed at Sheila’s place for a weekend and it was wonderful. The house is ideally located, only 5 min from Bantry and just beside the national road.
Sheila was really kind. She patiently answered all our questions and even left some food for us.
The apartment offers everything that you need and even more. It is really clean, tidy and comfortable. It was nice to arrive in the evening and just chill out.
The place is perfect for couples that are looking to relax in a quiet area but also want plenty of activities to do and things to see.
I recommend it 100%! Thanks a million Sheila! I hope to come back soon!
The photos don't do the place justice, its beautiful. The house is finished to an excellent degree, with nice big tiles, high ceiling, lots of windows, and a big comfy bed. Its only a few minutes away from Bantry town, but the silence is deafening and the stars are mind-blowing. Luckily, we got some nice weather while we were there.
We highly recommend this to anyone exploring West Cork, or in need of a quiet getaway to the countryside.
Sheila is a great host too, who obviously takes her hospitality seriously, providing us with fresh milk, eggs, bacon and sausages. Thanks Sheila!
Sheila was the perfect host and was very informative. The Accommodation exceeded our expectations and she had everything you could possibly need. Photos don't really do this place justice. It was a lot bigger and everything appears new and finished to a high standard.
There was a personalised message for us on arrival which was a lovely touch with all the info and local events for the weekend of our stay in the surrounding areas. Another surprise was there was full fry up supplies in the fridge. Sheila also offered to drive us into town which was very nice of her but we decided to stay in and have drinks instead.
Would highly recommend this place and we might even stay @ Country Daze in the future as we really did enjoy our stay here.
About the Host, Sheila
We have recently moved to New Zeland for a little while to see what the world outside of West Cork is like. We like meeting people and love the outdoors life. West Cork, Bantry and the Sheeps Head Penninsula have so much to offer around every winding road. If you are prepared for all weather conditions and love seeking out new places like us you will love staying at Country Daze.
When we holiday we like to home stay so we can prepare our own meals with local produce, you will need to visit the market on Friday morning in Bantry its great for everything local. We also think a good night sleep is important which is why we have provided the best bed to sleep in ever!!
A good book while travelling is essential too, you will find many books to read and swap in our home.
While we are away we have two fantastic and enthusiastic persons available for any information and assistance our guests may need.
