Our suburban home near Parmer and Mopac is close to the train station that will take you to the heart of downtown. The house is roomy and comfortable, and we have a pool and hot tub too! We have cats if allergies are a concern.
Your room will be a front room with a large picture window in it. Currently we have a twin bed in there, and can also put a queen air mattress on the floor. There is a bathroom with a tub and shower across the hallway from your room.
The living room has a big TV- no cable, but we have the TV hooked up to the internet, as well as an Xbox 360 with Netflix. There's free and fast wi-fi. The kitchen is fully equipped.
No smoking except outside in designated areas. We have 2 indoor cats, so you'll want to keep the door to your room closed to keep them out. I also have 2 small snakes who live in aquariums, and another aquarium full of fish that don't usually make too much noise.
The back yard has a gorgeous in-ground pool with a hot tub that you can use at any time.
The house is not child-friendly, so please- no kids.
You'll have access to the entire downstairs, including your room, a bathroom, a craft room, the living room/dining room area, the kitchen, and the yard both front and back. The upstairs is private, please.
We're in a quiet, tree-lined suburban neighborhood. It's not in an especially 'funky' area of town, but there's plenty of places to eat nearby, and groceries, gas, and drug stores within a few blocks.
There's not any convenient bus stops nearby, but you can drive to the train station less than 3 miles up the road that will take you to the Metrorail, which will drop you off right in the middle of downtown Austin.
No smoking inside the house, and outside in designated areas only.
No pets or children.
Keep noise to a minimum after 11pm on weeknights.

I'm a 46yo typical Austin hippie-type; quiet, nerdy, and laid-back.
I love cats and get along with most dogs. I'm an introvert and a night owl- I tend to stay up late reading or poking around the net then sleep in the next morning. I'll usually schedule my vacations fairly loosely- I find that sticking to a strict itinerary can be more stressful than playing it by ear based on what I'm in the mood for. My style is casual, yet I'm one of those people that still makes the bed every day.
I'm a big fan of trees and greenery, so I like to stay at places that have some nature close-by- a pretty back yard or even a park nearby will do the trick.
I'm mostly vegetarian- still can't give up bacon or sausage and cheese kolaches though.
