This one bedroom is clean, cozy, and in a traditional Chelsea walk-up with restaurants, subways, the West Village, the Meatpacking District and Union Square all close by.
This 1 bedroom apartment in the Chelsea area of Manhattan on the border of the West Village.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT: It is 1 block from the A/C/E, 1/2/3 and L Train (email hidden), and two avenues from the B/D/F/V.
NEIGHBORHOOD: Chelsea is a great spot for exploring the best of Manhattan and Brooklyn, going on walks in the West Village, Union Square and the Meatpacking District. It's a safe and centrally located neighborhood.
Some details about the apartment:
BEDROOM: There is a very comfortable DOUBLE-SIZED bed with fresh sheets and new pillows. The bedroom gets nice and sunny in the morning, but you can pull down the blackout shades if you want to sleep in. The bedroom has an air conditioner. There is an iron available for your use.
The bedroom faces the back of the building, which until 11PM on the weekends may have a little noise from the private dinner club in the adjoining courtyard. (They are required to be indoors by 11PM.)
LIVING ROOM: A large, comfortable couch goes around two walls in the cozy living room. It is as big as a twin-sized bed, so can accommodate an additional guest. This is where the TV + Apple TV live. The living room has an air conditioner.
BATHROOM: The bathroom is small, but has new fixtures and a great amount of water pressure. Included are: Shampoo, Conditioner, Bodywash, Towels, Washcloths, Lotion, Hairdryer.
KITCHEN: The kitchen is stocked with everything -- high quality pots, pans, knives, wine glasses, a brand new coffee maker, spices and cooking oils and a new gas stove & oven. Coffee, teas, milk and sugar are always there.
PLEASE NOTE -- IT IS A WALKUP: The apartment is a fifth floor walkup with no elevator. If you have a lot of luggage or a super heavy suitcase, just be advised that you have to scale five flights of stairs. The stairs are wide and easy to carry things up.
PETS! I own a small, friendly Boston Terrier who will not be in the apartment. The apartment has been cleaned top to bottom and doesn't have any pet hair, dander or pet smells. That being said, if you're allergic to dogs, this may not be the place for you.
You have access to my entire apartment. There is a bunch of space in the bedroom closet for you and in the bedroom drawers. This is NY, so storage is small, but I think you'll find enough space for your things.
Some of my personal items have been left behind while I'm out, so please just leave those where they are.
Interaction with Guests
My Airbnb manager Licia will be there to check you in. Outside of that, you'll have the entire apartment to yourself. I am available 24/7 by WhatsApp, text or phone if you need me, and always try to respond to email inquiries right away before, during and after your reservation.
The apartment is one block from the A/C/E trains and the 1/2/3 trains at 14th Street, as well as numerous buses to the Lower East Side and Alphabet City on 14th Street. The F/M trains are a one avenue (5 minute) walk away. You almost couldn't be in a better location for public transportation.
- No smoking.
- No extra guests without notifying owner before reservation starts. Extra guests without telling owner will put your security deposit at risk, so please give me a heads up if you have anyone
- Never go out on the fire escape.
- Dogs and small pets are allowed, with preapproval by owner.
Megan was GREAT! Super responsive and super accommodating. Everything went smoothly and she even helped us solve a major date mess-up I created. Excellent host!
The apartment is a gem, NYC style, everything in its place and clean and tidy and comfortable. It is the perfect NYC crib ... 100 yards from the 14th St E,C and A trains, a lovely short walk to the restaurants and shops of the Meat Packing District and, of course, there is the High-Line.
I will definitely think of it as my place in NYC.
Thank you Megan!

Megan was a great host. She gave loads of really good tips and pointers and was good at communicating. Really great location - loads of great bars and restaurants all within easy walking distance. Definitely the the best thing was the location. Very safe and friendly area. Apartment was small but really cosy and exactly what we needed and what the pictures tell. It was like staying in a super large suite of a trendy boutique hotel. The bed was comfortable and the whole apartment was very clean. There are stairs to walk up - but that wasnt a problem - its seemed more of a problem to the New Yorkers that we mentioned them to than us! All in all the perfect abode for our girly trip to the Big Apple!
Megan is a great host, full of tips on where to eat and what to see, and was always available to answer questions. The apartment was perfect for what we were looking for and was in a perfect location to explore Manhattan. Highly recommend!
Megan met us at the apartment, showed us round and made us feel very welcome. The property was as described, cosy, warm and clean. The location was ideal with transport links on the doorstep. The West Village felt like a safe part of town with nice bars and restaurants. To sum up; a great host and a great spot.
Megan is a superb host! Apt is in a great location, immaculate, nicely decorated and super comfy bed and couch! The kitchen was well stocked and the showers were hot with goid water pressure. The fifth story walk up may be a deterrent to some but I preferred it because it was very quiet. All in all...great stay, we'll be back!
Staying at Megan's place was great! The apartment is very warm and convenient. The bed is super comfortable, and so as the couch. The kitchen and the dining area are really nice. Licia, the cleaning lady, did a wonderful job, and handed me the keys to a very clean apartment. If possible, I recommend to reduce the heat, but if it can't be done, then opening the window is enough ;) The location is good. I love this area of the city. So many bars, cafes and restaurants... just lovely :) I definitely recommend Megan's place! Thanks again for allowing me to stay there.
Hi Michal, thanks for the visit and glad you enjoyed it! I am so glad you guys stayed at my place!
With the older steam heating system in the building, which is common in these older buildings, you can adjust the heat by turning the dials to "off" in the bedroom and living room. Cracking a window is sometimes necessary too just to cool things off.
I will make sure to communicate that to future guests so they don't run into the same issue.

Hi there! My name is Megan and I'm a journalist living in the Chelsea area of Manhattan. Any extra money I earn from hosting on AirBnB goes to my "Travel Account" for future trips! Whether you're looking for someone to give you advice on where to go in the city and what to do, or just a quiet place to stay and relax after a long flight, I think you'll love my place.
