MY REVIEWS SPEAK FOR ME! Unfortunately, this was the worst experience I have had hosting a guest. Malik is an 18 year old young man that in my opinion is Emotionally Disturbed. He stayed 13 out of 14 days. I saw a red flag the first day an offered his money back to find accommodations elsewhere and he apologize and pleaded to stay. I have been an educator with DPS for thirty years and see many young men such as Malik. I have raised to successful children and have 2 wonderful grandchildren. I only accepted him at the plea of a woman who said he had a rough time in his short life and was struggling to attend college and he only had limited funds for 2 weeks of living and if I could help a kid from the inner city. I tried to help by reducing the rate and giving him a safe place to stay. Now she has a big home in Grosse Pointe (affluent Suburb of Detroit) and I was wondering why she didn't provide shelter. Also, I told Kelly that she would be responsible for him and would have to check in with him. She quickly said she would help him sign up on AIRBNB so that she would not be responsible. I had the experience of finding out why. Malik is very immature and disrespectful. He is definitely not ready for AIRBNB and does not understand shared spaces. He actually was very untidy and left dirty dishes and did not clean after himself. I had to remind him to clean after himself because the maid is not coming because he's not at a hotel. As mentioned earlier my reviews reflect on what type of host I am. I felt uncomfortable and threatened in my own home. As a result, I offered him a third of his money back on his 13th day to leave and he took the money. I didn't mind the loss just to have a peace of mind before other guest arrived. I'm not a therapist; however, after working with Inner City Children you have a strong recognition of children who are Emotionally Impaired. Until then it is my opinion that an 18 yr old needs to have a supervising adult with them. This is why you need to be 21 to check into most major hotels. I can't recommend Malik for AirBNB.
