Perfect score of 10 for 10 days at Edward's apartment! And Edward himself is a perfect host: so helpful, considerate, gracious, generous, and straight- up nice!
The apartment was quiet, well appointed, clean, roomy and comfortable for the three of us. The living room-both spacious and comfortable with a terrific couch and movie/media center. Nice dining area. NYC style kitchen which was good for breakfast and heating up take out but not suited for serious cooks but really who comes to NYC to cook your own stuff? Bathroom with a deep tub and strong shower. The bedroom is an oasis for rest, good bed and bedding and great aerobed. Nice light and view from the big sliding glass door. Best of show is the terrace! An ideal spot to hang out far above the maddening crowd- our private rooftop lounge! Perfect location in a secure building and safe fun neighborhood close to everything we wanted. Easy stroll to George Washington Square and subway one block away. Enjoyed coming home to a quiet and cool refuge (great air-conditioning) after hot day in NYC. No place better after a long day on the streets than the rooftop terrace for a take out meal with sunset views of the city followed by late night in the lounge chair stargazing.
Edward really made our first Airbnb venture perfect. He waited up for us till the wee hours to greet us after our flight was delayed, had the beds made up and clean towels and bathroom toiletries set out, and remarkably had cleared out most all of his personal belongings so we had plenty of storage space and felt like his apartment was our private space. He was like a concierge at an upscale hotel, ready with great restaurant and grocery recommendations and directions for subway travel. And the same day we asked if we could repair a slow leak in the Aerobed, he went out and bought us a new bed! Plus when we couldn't figure out the audio system on the media center, he came over within ten minutes! From day one till we left (which he graciously let us stay till our late flight out) Edward made us feel welcomed and cared about. An authentic good person!
I definitely recommend Edward and his NYC roost to anybody! He does not rent it out very frequently, so I hope we will be lucky enough to get to stay here again for our next NYC adventure.
The apartment was perfect, the neighborhood too. It has everything you need to have a great stay. Everything went as planned, and the apartment was clean and really nice.
Edward answered every question and was super kind.
The AC was too noisy, but was not a big deal.
Edward is a great host - he always gave timely responses whenever I had questions before and during the stay. The photos and description of the place are very accurate, and the neighborhood is fantastic - the N/R and 6 trains are literally just a few minutes away and there are a lot of nice restaurants and bars around the area. Overall I am very very satisfied with this experience and would definitely recommend Edward's place to anyone!
Edward’s East Village apartment was our home away from home for 4 months, and we loved it! The penthouse itself is spacious, private and tidy. Everything was in good working order, and the epic projector screen was an awesome way to relax and watch a flick at the end of the day. It’s also in a superb location – close to everything, so it was easy to fall in love with surrounding Manhattan and the EV.
As an Airbnb host, you can’t ask for anything more than Edward’s great communication prior to and during our stay, his accommodating us leaving bags there a week early so we could travel to Philly, and his thoughtfulness for making space for us, leaving treats and generally being very considerate.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Edward as a host, or his place to stay if/when it’s available again. But you’ll have to beat us to it! ☺ Thanks again Edward, really appreciated your hospitality.
Edward was a great host. The apartment was just like in the pictures... very clean, bed, bathroom, furniture were all new/modern/in great condition. Included all current day amenities... netflix, ipod dock, fridge, air conditioning downstairs and upstairs. It is one of the building's "penthouse" apartments since it's on the top floor. The laundry machines downstairs were easy to use... if you're too lazy for that there's a wash and fold at the corner. Close to two subway stations and only a short walk to Greenwich, Soho, East Village, Chinatown, Nolita, and Little Italy... in other words, very convenient location.
Fits up to three comfortably (two on the bed upstairs, one on the couch).
Highly recommended... I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!
