The space
A beautiful getaway located along the North Umpqua River in Douglas County Oregon.

The lit gazebo ensures you will be able to sit and enjoy the fire, and the sound of the North Umpqua River at any time, rain, or shine. We have a fire-pit, wood burning or propane depending on fire season status, and a propane BBQ grill/pellet smoker.

Your cell phone won't work out here. We have provided a landline and Wi-Fi so you can let loved ones know about all the fun you're having.

It is important to us that you enjoy your stay! One of us is always available by messenger and would be happy to answer any questions you may have about Mountain Mama Lodge or its surroundings.

Guest access
Mountain Mama Lodge is a stand-alone 600 sq. foot building of which you have full and private access. There is an outdoor fire area, BBQ, and covered gazebo where you can sit and hear the North Umpqua River, and the seasonal creek behind the lodge. We have one neighbor (your Host) and we usually walk down to greet you on arrival unless you ask that we don't.
We are located just off Highway 138 in the small community of Dry Creek. The Dry Creek Store is nearby for all your last-minute needs.
We do have satellite internet, which is great for checking emails, but doesn't have the speed for video calls, gaming, or streaming
Please see "other notes" for pet policy.

Other things to note
Check-in is any time after 4 PM, but early check-in is sometimes available if we're vacant the night before, Just Ask. You are always welcome to drop off luggage & refrigerated items any time after Noon and then go out and explore the area. Please let us know if dropping off items early.

We don't have extravagant checkout chore lists, but we do ask that you wash your dishes before you depart. We'll take care of trash, beds, floors, and sanitizing for the next guest.

PETS:
Well-behaved, housebroken pets are welcome; 2 maximum. You are responsible for them, and for picking up after them. We provide bags. Leashes are strongly encouraged, dogs can quickly pick up the scent of a strange animal and become lost in the forest. There is a $60 per stay (not per pet) fee. If you bring a dog without first notifying us you will be charged an additional ($25)
We set up differently for pet stays, including a toy & treat for them, and must know in advance. While we understand accidents happen, any accidents or marking involving furniture will incur a $100 non negotiable extra cleaning fee. You agree to this by renting. It is important to us that our non pet stays cannot tell there was a pet previously there. We don't mandate that pets cannot be left here while you explore the area, but you are responsible for them and any damage or extra cleaning they may cause.
Thank you for understanding.

Neighborhood highlights

Stunningly beautiful! We are a short walking distance to the North Umpqua River (just across the street!) and are conveniently located near the Dry Creek Store for any needs you may have such as gas, propane, sandwiches, drinks, ice cream, and snacks. Check with the store for their hours.

We are surrounded in every direction by the Umpqua National Forest, creeks, and waterfalls, making our neighborhood one of the most beautiful and serene in the Cascade Range and Southern Oregon. Several miles of trails provide excellent hiking and mountain biking opportunities. We are approximately 50 miles east of Roseburg on Hwy 138E (Oregon's Highway of Waterfalls.)

We have directions to many local favorites posted at the lodge and in our guidebook. If you need directions to more things to see, just ask. There's a lot to see and do out here.
