To continue on from our back and forth private conversations over the weekend -
we are saddened to hear you had a less than positive experience, as it's our home and we are proud of it. As you can see from other reviews below, other guests have not had your experience. We also have a 4.5 star rating which we would not have earned if the flat was as you described. In this case we did feel that your primary aim was to get money back to make your stay cheaper, and as such were grossly exaggerating with your feedback.
1a) The flat is a 12 min walk away from Baron's court and 15 min from West Brompton. This can easily be seen on (Hidden by Airbnb) maps. Also, there is a bus stop a 2 min walk from the flat which takes you directly to West Brompton or Hammersmith at 2-3 min intervals. This stop also services buses to South Kensington and Waterloo.
1b) As for the area not being nice, it is located amongst lovely restaurants, bars, cafes, and high end antique shops. In addition it's around the corner from the tennis Queens tennis club which is by definition a good area. We feel it's discriminatory to say that we should warn anyone that it's on an ex council estate as we are proud of our neighbours. To say it's unsafe, please see many other guests' reviews below.
2) The terrace is not a shared terrace. There is a brick wall (with an imitation living wall) between the neighbour's terrace, and it's exactly as shown on the photos. The terrace can be used to enjoy the outside (there is even a BBQ) which is very rare in London.
3) Furniture stains - The sofa had a faded coffee stain which should have brought to attention by the cleaners. But to say you needed to cover it with a sheet is grossly exaggerated.
4) Tape on the front door and holes in the doors - There is a strip of tape over the lock on the inside of the main door which is to prevent confusion with too many keys which has happened in the past. Also I can't see where one piece of tape has ruined your stay. Holes in the door - there is a small hole on the back of the bathroom door where a guest pulled off the hook - we will certainly get this repaired, however i don't see how this would have ruined your stay. To say the flat is in disrepair is once again a gross exaggerated as it was fully refurbished 18 months ago.
Once again I am sorry to hear you have not had a good stay, but in this case we feel your feedback was aimed at reducing the cost of your stay as none of the points above would ruin anyone's stay.
