My mom and I stayed in this room/guesthouse recently and we both would highly recommend it to others. Everything was exactly as described and even better. Great location that is walking distance to most everything. The guest house felt very safe and the room was very clean and spacious. Stephanie was extremely helpful when we arrived. She had great restaurant recommendations and also helped us book wonderful tours during our visit. They made us feel very comfortable and welcome. Thanks again for everything :)
Our stay with Maria Cristina was lovely! This was my first stay at an Airbnb and I felt very comfortable and welcomed (email hidden)e host was warm, inviting and accommodating to our needs but by far the best part of this apartment was the location! I highly recommend staying at this place to get the best out of your trip to Florence.
This was our first experience using airbnb, so we weren't quite sure what to expect. We arrived early and immediately felt welcome! Our room was already ready so we were able to settle in right away which was a bonus. The room and hosts (Cris and Stephanie) exceeded our expectations. The room was very large and had a nice bathroom. The neighborhood was quiet at night, so we had no trouble sleeping. The location was definitely one of the best ones in Florence, as you are within walking distance to everything. We only used a cab to get to the train station. If we ever get the chance to come back to Florence, we will definitely stay here again!
Our bathroom had a strong mold or mildew odor. The host was very responsive in cleaning the bathroom and assured us of no health risks. We felt the mold odor persisted after the cleaning and this impacted the quality of our stay. All of the other reviews are accurate in describing the great location and value.
Ciao Justin, thank you so much for letting us know of your concern. We appreciate that you acknowledged our quick response. As we explained, we do not have the same mold issues that occur in certain parts of the United States. The bathroom does not have a window, and we are in a sixteenth century building, so the bathroom just needs to be aired out daily to keep it fresh, which we do. Thanks again!
The location was excellent. Everything was in easy walking distance. The size was great. Maria was helpful. We got a fabulous restaurant recommendation from her as well.
Crissy, her her assistant, Stephanie, were excellent hosts! One of them was always on-site during the day, and Crissy was able to make dinner suggestions (Trattoria Anita was fabulous, just a block away!) and offer other helpful tips during our 4 night stay. Her communication with me prior to our arrival was always responsive and the directions she provided were easy to follow.
The room/suite we stayed in was one of the best of our 3-week trip to Italy. Despite the 3-floor walk-up, everything about our experience was delightful: the room looks just like the photos, the king-sized bed was comfy with lots of pillows, the bathroom is spacious and we had plenty of hot water for showers, the suite has its own air-conditioning (heaven when we were exhausted from the heat and humidity of walking all over the city!), and although we never used the kitchen area (too much fun eating out!), it was nice to know we could, and we did use the fridge to keep bottled waters cold for our daily outings.
We were able to use a lovely little balcony in the evenings, where we enjoyed wine most nights, and Crissy provides coffee, tea, fresh fruit and packaged breakfast snacks for your morning wake-up.
The apartment could NOT have been in a more ideal location!!! We were literally steps away from two different piazzas, and just around the corner from the Ufizzi Gallery, the Borgello Museum, Santa Croce church, the Arno River, and just blocks away from the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio. Everything was easy to find and get to.
A "Must-Do": Cross the river over the Ponte Grazie in the early evening, turn left, and start climbing (check out Rick Steve's info on the Piazzella Michelangelo). Bring some wine and/or a picnic, and stay to watch the sunset. Florence is unbelievably beautiful from this vantage point.
Ideal location could not have been any better. Very comfortable room and bed, with a cosy balcony to enjoy breakfast .Croissants, cakes and coffee were a nice touch.Maria Christina was very welcoming and very helpful with restaurants and advice about Florence. We would highly recommend this property.
