Rene was terrific to work with and the house was exactly as advertised. The location is perfect for any on-campus activities and it was really nice to have our own individualized code entry for the front door. The home was perfectly clean and included everything in the kitchen we hoped to see. A real plus was the nice backyard and garden area.
I definitely enjoyed my stay in Laramie. The host was extra careful to ensure I have all I need. Thank you!
I booked a visit to this house for my family of four in May for two nights in July. The owners were not there to meet us, but had given us a code to unlock the door. Unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. Our biggest complaints involved the bedding and bathroom cleanliness: while the bedding in the bedroom seemed clean, the bedding for the futon was definitely not. We fished around and found some sheets for the futon that had never been washed and were crumpled up in a plastic package (the fitted sheet was not the right size and did not fit the futon), but could not find any pillow cases. The owners' son did drop off a couple of pillow cases and a fourth bath towel (there were only three when we arrived). We found two comforters, both of which had not seen the inside of a washing machine for a very, very long time (smelly and stained).
Other complaints included the fact that the bath tub had not been cleaned, as was made obvious by the presence of hair and soap scum in the tub. Also, the owner had claimed in May that breakfast would be provided, but advised us upon arrival that it would not be supplied. The house did not look very appealing when we arrived (a good mowing and a couple of plants in the cement planter would have gone a long way - it really could be a very cute house with a bit of effort).
We paid a good amount of money to spend the night in this house and decided to check into a hotel for the second night. Between the dirt and breakfast issues, we felt that we had been taken advantage of and couldn't stomach another night. We spent the next night in a hotel with clean sheets, a clean bathroom and a full breakfast for the same price and slept 100% better.
John, it looks like you are more of a hotel family than an Airbnb family. Because you had no prior experience with Airbnb or no positive references, we were hesitant to accept your request. We have many other requests from folks that appreciate the Airbnb spirit of opening up their homes. Airbnb offers a very different experience that a hotel.
We are very sorry that you thought our house and sheets were unclean, but we positively have clean sheets (spare included) for every guest and the comforter on the bed was brand new for your arrival. The house was professionally cleaned before your arrival including the bath and bedding. Making sure the house is clean is one of our main priorities!
Good luck in the future.
This house was well located, honestly advertised and too short blocks to Safeways. The house was clean and the bed very comfortable, the kitchen adequately equipped and the Wifi reception was good. Met all our expectations. We can recommend this house to fellow travellers.
We loved the house, and René and David were great hosts! The house is very convenient and walkable to anywhere in town. The house was decorated very nicely and it felt like home for the month we were there. René and David were very helpful to us! If you are visiting Laramie, stay here!
Great location! 2 blocks from campus in one direction, and 2 blocks from a bunch of activities and places to eat in the other direction. If you are going to Laramie, this is definitely a great place to stay. Nice kitchen with a few things in case you arrive hungry. Nice to have netflix available if you don't feeling like doing anything too. Nice and clean and decorated well. If we come back to Laramie, this is where we would stay!
We loved having you guys and hope you will come back again! Maybe next time the garden will be full of fresh veggies and the new art walk will be installed. Thanks for keeping the place so clean and for leaving the next guests some Guinness:) We'd love to have you back!
Rene and David were extremely gracious hosts. From the moment we arrived at the house to the day that we left (during a storm and they voluntarily offered us a late checkout if needed), they were wonderful at making sure our stay was seamless and that we had everything that we needed! I booked the home for my family to stay in while we were in Laramie for my graduation and final reflective week for pharmacy school. We were all very comfortable in the home for the whole week we stayed.
Our neighborhood is a quiet one with good neighbors, big trees and lots of big backyards. There were backyard BBQs and graduation parties all over town the weekend you were here. Wish you would have mentioned that when you were here and we would have tried to help. Hopefully the extra items we provided made up for that... Extra bedding for your family, new BBQ utensils for your cookout, breakfast items in the fridge etc. Thanks for staying and congrats on your graduation!
