This house is great! I would recommend it to anyone that is looking to get away from the busy city for a weekend!
The house is beautiful, and exactly as advertised. The layout inside is really superb for a couple, or a family with 1-2 kids. There is a wonderful upstairs bedroom occupying the whole upper floor, and then an open plan main area, with a kitchen, dining table, and sitting area. The downstairs is two smaller bedrooms, a bathroom and laundry area. The place was completely perfect for us. Grant sent a document with detailed instructions on how to get there and everything we possibly could have needed to know about the house. The area is very private, down a long driveway - perfect again for a couple. Cannot speak highly enough of the experience, we absolutely loved it.
Great place; beautiful setting; very quiet; well appointed. Hot tub was great, particularly at night with incredible night sky. We were made to feel welcome and host left us a bottle of wine. A little difficult to find but that made it more special. We recommend it as great place to stay for some solitude and to enjoy the natural beauty of the Catskills.
Where to start? The view was amazing. The cottage is light, open, cheery and charming. It was a quiet, relaxing, glorious weekend. The host was communicate and generous. Go see for yourself:)
Oh, where to begin. We had the experience of a lifetime at Grant and Dave's place. My husband and I took a month to live and work from upstate, to see if we could eventually move up north. Not only did we fall in love with the Country Thyme Cottage, we could definitely envision moving to this area in Delaware County, when previously we weren't sure. Their home is perfect — cozy and comfortable, tastefully decorated, thoughtfully set up. The studio was perfect for the two of us to work from (wish we could transport it to BK!), and the hot tub was the icing on the cake. We're still dreaming of waking up with that view of the mountains (freaking gorgeous!) Grant + Dave were exceptional hosts, they welcomed us with a bottle of wine, a great bag of coffee beans, and a prepped fire in the stove. They were super responsive with our questions along the way.
It's such a special place — we'll definitely be back, hopefully for another month in the fall. Thanks Dave + Grant, for renting out your wonderful home, and sharing this lovely spot with others.
Grant's cottage was absolutely perfect - it far exceeded my expectations. Cozy and beautifully decorated with everything you need - great books, comfy blankets, fully stocked kitchen for cooking. Plus stunning views. It was very, very hard to leave! I can't wait to return in the summer for a different experience.
Amazing stay!! This place is even more beautiful than the pictures, and much more spacious than we thought. It's clear that the architect was very thoughtful and it feels cozy and rustic yet still luxurious. The soaking tub and rain shower were heavenly. I was grateful every time I opened my eyes in the morning and saw mountains. The place has so much sunlight! I spent some time taking in the artwork. I personally loved the kitchen and we cooked every meal there. We were so happy it snowed while we were up. The hot tub experience in the snow was breathtaking (you will freeze walking there and back, but worth it). We also enjoyed walking around the grounds. It's probably a little sad how much New York City dwellers can value space, sunlit rooms, and fresh air! Cassie's cafe in town had some yummy breakfast and a friendly vibe for our ride out.
I was worried I didn't bring a book, but Grant has a great book collection up there. I read on everything from Buddhism, to civil rights history, to (my favorite) David Sedaris.
Basically, I am inlove with this place. It was the most relaxing and romantic anniversary I could hope for. Thank you!
