Relax in the circular comfort of the yurt on a small working farm. Nestled in the edge of the woods, 1/4 mile off the main road, enjoy quiet + convenient access to the region. Inside, the ambience is clean, comfortable and authentically rustic. Outside, stroll through the gardens, sip local wine on the deck as the sun sets, stargaze, nap in the hammock or cozy up by the warmth of an evening bonfire. You have the option to order local foods a la carte, to be stocked in the kitchen upon arrival.

The space
**COVID 19 Protocols** As per New York State, AirBB, WHO and CDC reopening guidelines, the yurt rental IS available for rent beginning June 12th, 2020. We are following strict recommendations to assure your safety while staying here that include:
*A 24 hour waiting period between guests for any new bookings whenever possible
*Strict adherence to cleaning guidelines including ventilating the rental, wearing PPE while cleaning and both cleaning & disinfecting all surfaces hard and soft. Details of the exact protocol we follow can be found on the airbnb website.
* We request that you to travel with your own PPE and hand sanitizer and take precautions to wash your hands thoroughly each time you enter the yurt after going into public.
* While we have always provided coffee, spices, vinegar and oil to guests, we will not be offering these amenities during the 2020 season. We encourage you to bring your own as needed.

--> Enjoy quiet time lounging inside or sprawl out on the deck which offers a great view of the farm and incredible sunsets, convenience for grilling, reading, doing yoga or whatever you might enjoy.

Inside there is one queen bed in the loft with a window to the sky, and a convertible queen-sized futon on the main floor in the main living space. There's a large full bathroom, plus a changing room/closet to store your things. (Organic cotton sheets, bedding and towels provided for all guests).

The kitchen has pots, pans, dishes, cups, oil, vinegar, spices, a french press (with instructions) and locally roasted organic coffee ready for your use (*Note. In the 2020 season, during the COVID epidemic, we will not be offering shared foods*). The gardens just outside the door offer cooking herbs for picking and are a great pair to the Local Food Options listed below. There is gas grill and outdoor furniture for summer cookouts. There's a small fire pit among the trees (wood provided). Heating/Cooling: There are two space heaters, a ceiling fan and two oscillating fans to ensure your comfort. There is no A/C.

*May and October, November renters should know that Upstate NY can be cool during these months. Plan to use the space heaters. There's also a small wood stove, but it is only effective if you're experienced heating with them. Let us know if you are, and we'll provide wood*

*Please note we do not allow parties. And a maximum of 4 people and 2 cars total may stay at the yurt. If more cars are needed, please let us know.*

Guest access
The yurt itself is nestled in at Wellspring Forest Farm, a small diversified operation that produces mushrooms, maple syrup, elderberry extract, duck eggs, and grazes sheep and ducks. There is .5 mile nature walk in the woods behind the yurt open to guests. We share our road with our neighbors and request that guests do not walk in other areas of the property. A map in the yurt displays this info.

We ask that children are supervised at all times.
We are not offering farm tours in 2020 due to the Covid epidemic and restricting guests access to the farm.

Other things to note
Farm Fresh Local Foods items (produced within 6 miles of here!) are available upon request for the additional cost of the item. We'll stock the kitchen with what you order! Depending on the season, options include harvests from our own Wellspring Forest Farm *maple syrup, *fresh shiitake and oyster mushrooms, and *duck eggs (taste like chicken eggs, but higher in protein and lower in cholesterol), plus *bacon and *sausage from Cayuta Sun. Contact us for availability or visit our farm's site.

Please - If you need anything during your stay, something isn't working properly or there is an issue with the yurt, please let us know! We want your stay to be most enjoyable and comfortable.

We're both part-time farmers/homesteaders. We love our land and this region of abundance and beauty and fun. We spend time hiking, cross country skiing, swimming, working hard and more. We lived in the yurt for 4 years and are excited to have remodeled it to be as comfortable and cozy for visitors as possible. Along with our farm animals, we have two friendly dogs on the property.

During your stay
During the 2020 season, we will not interact in person with guests at all unless you have a problem, in which case we are nearby. The yurt will be open for you at 3pm the day of your check-in. You can let yourself in. Wrapped by a large deck and surrounded by forests, gardens, and fruit trees, you should find complete privacy and seclusion during your stay.
