Glassworks Building — 815 W Market St, upper-floor river-view loft
Stay at one of the most unique and breathtaking places in Louisville. Enter the living room of this 925 square foot upper floor loft, with 12 foot ceilings, and in front of you is an entire wall of windows overlooking downtown and the falls of the Ohio River. The windows are 30 feet in length and 8 feet in height. Every day I wake up deliriously happy because the first thing I see in the morning is this view, and I stay that way all day for the same reason. I would love for you to experience this during your time in Louisville!
A string of adjectives for you that describe my space. . . Sun-drenched, Modern, Urban and Industrial Chic. The open floor plan allows you to enjoy time together with your friends, and the distinct spaces created using curtains, bookcases and furniture allow you to have more intimate spaces when you choose. The exposed concrete floors give you a raw, industrial feel while the carefully chosen decor warms up the space for a truly comfortable stay in an edgy space.
The space is 1 of 4 upper-floor river-view lofts in the historic Glassworks Building in downtown Louisville. Glassworks is a multi-use facility dedicated to the art of glass featuring 2 working glass studios, 2 glass galleries, a walk-in workshop and daily tours. That gives you a lot to do before you even step outside the building.
Plus, enjoy the convenience of private underground secure parking with a key card access elevator. Should you need anything during your stay, there is 24-hour security at the lobby front desk.
**** I have other comparably decorated and furnished lofts available in the same building on this floor + the floor above it to accommodate up to 42+ more people. (Check out "My Other Listings" in the right-hand side bar of this listing under my profile picture for details on this space or contact me for the link to the other listings.) Have a large group? We've got you covered with 4 stunning spaces in the same building! ****
Staying here, you are in the Glassworks District, adjacent to Museum Row. Without leaving a 2-block radius you can:
— Take the elevator down to Jazzyblu for a cocktail and a spot of live music or, if it's the weekend, chill in their cozy lounge, Blu, with dance music;
— Watch glass blowing artisans working it on the ground level;
— Walk to the world-renowned 21C Museum Hotel which houses restaurant Proof on Main and the 21C contemporary art museum;
— Stroll just a fraction further to up-and-coming restaurant St Charles Exchange and choose a libation from their lengthy cocktail list that showcases turn of the century mixed drinks in a casually elegant space reminiscent of a 1900's hotel lobby bar;
— Meander down Museum Row which includes Frazier History Museum, Glassworks, Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory, Kentucky Science Center, Kentucky Museum of Art + Craft, 21c Museum Hotel, The Muhammad Ali Center and The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts;
— or Jog to the Louisville Riverwalk for your morning run in Waterfront Park.
There is more, but I couldn't risk losing your interest by making this section even longer!
Venture a little further east (1.3 miles) on Market on the free downtown TARC trolley and you will find a plethora of amazing and unique restaurants. Louisville is a foodie town and this section, NuLu, is at the heart of the up-and-coming restaurant scene. Also, enjoy antique shops, art galleries and specialty stores.
Still with me? Let's go a little further down the road to The Highlands (about 3 miles to the southeast). Sometimes referred to as "Restaurant Row," the Highlands in Louisville is best known for its eclectic local shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. In fact, the three mile stretch of Bardstown Road and Baxter Avenue that intersects the Highlands has the highest density of bars and restaurants in Louisville.
I could keep going, but you are only staying for a couple of days, right?

Entertaining and Lounging — Welcome to the Lounge Pit. . .
When there are 3 or less beds in the loft, there are is room for 1 hang out space. In said space, I have a large modular, white leather, sectional sofa that can be set up as an U-shaped couch or as, what I believe is technically called, a lounge pit with the extra ottomans filling the center. It's a great spot to chill and watch a movie or two or even get some work done on your laptop. Speaking of getting work done, you will have high-speed, password-protected WiFi coursing through your computer. But what will you listen to whilst you are trapped in the lounge pit? How about my iPhone/Andriod/MP3 player docking speakers. Yeah, I think that should about do it. Oh wait, there is an HDTV across from said lounging area. Yep, that's to entertain you, the lounge-y one lounging in the lounge pit.
No smoking, no pets (I would get kicked out of my place and I know you don't want that.)

Very clean, great location. Sarah was kind enough to let us check in early. She also supplied us with breakfast for the next morning. Great stay!
Sarah is a great host! Offered to move our group to a room with a little more privacy when we arrived. Space is beautiful.
For the past five or so year, a few friends and I have gone on a New Year's Eve trip; this year was Louisville. Staying at Sarah's loft was a great way to get oriented to the city -- it was within walking distance to a lot of great bars, restaurants, and historical places. The loft was a perfect place to return to after a day out and about; everything was clean and seemed quite new, the furnishings were stylish and comfortable. Sarah was also an excellent host; she was easy to get in touch with before and during our stay. I would definitely want to stay here again if I were back in Louisville and would highly recommend Sarah's loft!

We had a great time in Sarah's space. The check-in process and the pre-trip communication was smart, well-organized, and timely.
The apartment itself was stunning. It was a spectacular space for a group of 7. Plenty of room to hang out and enjoy the river views.
The interior was decorated nicely, with plenty of seating, storage and sleeping space. There was also house keeping that made beds and refreshed towels each morning which is above and beyond for airbnb.
We were provided a garage parking space (and there was additional parking across the street for 4 dollars a day or so).
The apartment was well within walking distance of most things you'd want to do in downtown Louisville and a short cab ride from most anything local.
We really enjoyed ourselves and felt welcomed and taken care of.
I would stay here again in a heart beat.
Sarah was very accommodating and wonderful. Check-in was a breeze as was our check-out. Great location. Close to many interesting things. The views of the Ohio falls were unobstructed and breathtaking. We have stayed in all of the high end hotels in Louisville and would choose this loft any day of the week over those. The kitchen was fully stocked. Everything was neat and clean. Daily maid service was very nice. We absolutely will stay in one of Sarah's lofts the next time we are in Louisville.
I had a great stay in this loft. The memory foam beds are comfy and the extreme quiet made for a peaceful night's sleep -- that's always my #1 requirement. The view is gorgeous; the kitchen is well-stocked; the location is excellent. But it's all the extra touches that make staying here so special -- daily housekeeping, being able to order groceries to stock the kitchen, and all the concierge services that Sarah offers. Sarah is a terrific hostess and any needs or concerns I had were addressed promptly.
