We live off the grid here, so no hair dryers please or anything that heats up. If a hair dryers is a must, please use briefly and during the hours the sun is out on the solar panels.
Casa Cactus is in a neighborhood, so we ask that 'quiet time' be from 10p.m. til 7:00 a.m. Sound travels.
Please no smoking in the house area. A short walk down the driveway would be great!
Sorry, no pets.
Both Casa Cactus and Cabo Pulmo are full of that indescribable Baja charm that will have you coming back again and again. My wife and I spent several days here resting and relaxing after getting married a little further up the coast, and found the accommodations, the surroundings and our host, Cheryl, to be absolutely perfect. Safety was never a concern, as the community was very secure. Cheryl had incredible local knowledge that helped us get off the beaten path and see things we otherwise wouldn't have. If you need anything at all and she's around, then you my friend, are in luck.
The house itself was extremely comfortable, with beautiful landscaping, a well-thought out power / water system, and from the upstairs deck you'll have one of the best views in all of Cabo Pulmo. We awoke early every morning to catch the sunrise, and this unfailingly set the tone for yet another amazing day.
In summary, if you're looking for a laid-back, comfortable, and convenient place to spend some time, do not hesitate to book Casa Cactus in Cabo Pulmo. You will certainly not be disappointed.
I used to live in Baja years ago, when we arrive at the San Jose Airport I could tell how much it has changed, it has definitely become more and more popular but I found with great pleasure that Cabo Pulmo HAS NOT CHANGE A THING!!
If you're the kind of people who doesn't mind a bit of driving just so you can kind the perfect place to UNPLUGGED.
Casa Cactus was THE place to stay!! The house is in great shape, everything it's constantly been taking care of (you can tell in every single corner of the house...no rust, no malfunctions around) It gives enough privacy for everyone around with a breath-taking view a few steps upstairs... Everyone around has a common commitment on taking care of this marine preserve as much as a common respect. (We got a flat tired and within 30 min got help to get it fix!) Veronica helped us to check-in late in the afternoon and was always close enough if anything was need it. Beautiful house only 5 minutes "walk away" from the beach, restaurants and dive centers. We would definitely come back and stay here again an again...
We were well directed to Casa Cactus and greeted on arrival by Veronica. The house was perfect for us. It has an excellent kitchen, with plenty of cooking and eating gear. The road and area feel very safe. You can walk west to the hills which is a must, and east to the beach which is a given. We snorkeled several spots(don't miss los Arbolitos), I used a wet suit and would advise the same in January. Many hardy folks went without, but I left Minnesota to escape cold. We caught fish with local fisherman from Frailes beach where you can buy fish at the end of fishing day as well... Don't forget binoculars
Next year we will meet Cheryl
Cheryl was very prompt on her responses - she was away during our stay so did not get the pleasure to meet her in person although Karen greeted us and all was well. The photos just don't do this beautiful home justice. It is a work of art, every square inch. And the location! breathtaking. I loved the indoor, outdoor living! Very magical. Also the place was spotless and had nice quality kitchen utensils, pots and pans etc as well as linens and towels. Cabo Pulmo is a very special place and Casa Cactus was a wonderful home to experience the magic! We'll be back.
Pulled up and Cheryl had a welcome note and even personally came to meet us down the street to make finding the house easier.
She runs Casa Cactus with so much attention to detail and care.
She knows EVERYONE in town, and knows the Baja Sur area very well. So in addition to a beautiful and comfortable home, you've got the local insider knowledge.
On our last night, she came over with a bottle of wine. In general, I couldn't say enough about what a professional and gracious host Cheryl is!
STAY HERE in CABO PULMO!
We can't be happier with Casa Catus. The house is gorgeous and we can tell the owner put a lot of effort into it and every little piece is a nice touch. Both the owner and manager are very nice and helpful. We travelled with a 4 year old and the place is super safe. She got to see the birds and rabbits and many other wild lives. We brought our baby monitor since our daughter slept downstairs but it is really not needed. We loved everything about the house and the surroundings. Cabo Pulmo is a truly amazing place. Our favorite part is listening to all birds singing and watching them start a busy day from the deck in the early morning. Simply amazing. We will definitely be back.
This was the most stunningly gorgeous place we could have chosen in the area. We were beyond thrilled when we arrived to see how beautiful the place was - even nicer than the pictures. Cheryl was an incredible host, extremely generous with her time, and made sure we had everything we needed for a perfect vacation. My husband and I were mesmerized by the view from the upstairs bedroom, we spent every evening looking out at the water, listening to the birds, and enjoying a cold drink in total relaxation. The kitchen was fully stocked with every tool we needed to make our own meals. The sheets and towels were high quality, and Cheryl has though of every little detail to make a perfect vacation home. You will have a wonderful time here, we certainly plan to return and to recommend it to our friends.
