Cosy, downtown, newly-renovated, one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bathroom apartment with a great location. This second- and third-floor hideaway with an inviting rooftop lookout sleeps two guests and is on Calle Mesones, San Miguel's main shopping street. This apartment's next door to gourmet grocer Bonanza, and equidistant from the main square, the main market and the main library. Really, you couldn't live in a more central location in El Centro Historico.
The third-floor, rooftop terrace is a unanimous favourite among guests and where many choose to spend the majority of their time: reading the Attencion over breakfast, lunching al fresco, catching up on emails via the WIFI and enjoying margaritas by sunset. The towering steeples of el centro historico rise from the shadows of the rooftops and loom in the foreground in front of a fiery, multicolour horizon.
The bright, third-floor bedroom's set back from the street for added privacy and has a queen-sized bed and a full bathroom.
The second floor features a spacious, open-concept living room with a with a gas fireplace, a large dining room for four guests. A arched service window opens onto the kitchen's tile countertops, a double sink and new appliances, including a gas stove, oven, fridge and washing machine. The second floor also has a a half-bathroom for visitors.

Casita Marilu is a lovely place to stay. Very clean and comfortable. Angelica was very helpful and answered all of my questions.
It is so convenient to walk to grocery stores, market, Jardin, theater, and movies. I enjoy walking and walked to El Charco Ingenio, Mega, Soriana/Liverpool Mall, Tuesday Market, and Fabrica Aurora. Bus stops are just a block away to go exploring and enjoy the hot springs.

We stayed at Mesones 49B for nearly two months and thoroughly enjoyed it. Angelica was most helpful, along with her hands-on assistant Lali. The house is central, on a street filled with shops and food outlets. You never have to go far for anything. Accessing the house involves a staircase, but on the upper floor it is traditional-type architecture and on the top floor the bedroom is very comfortable, with access to a lovely open deck. There's no hot-water tap in the bathroom basin, and no bath, but both are common features. In the cold weather we experienced, we were able to run the gas fire and the gas stove to keep us warm. Stroll out to the Jardin any time, or wander up to the Allende square, or round to the Biblioteka. You are always surrounded by lovely architecture. Overall, a highly recommended residence in a prime spot.
