We are an accommodating couple with a friendly hypoallergenic terrier on Capitol Hill listing our tranquil private basement level room. This room stays warm in the Winter and cool in the Summer. Our location could not be more central to everything Capitol Hill has to offer
Although our home is listed as an apartment it's more like a townhouse. The layout of the complex is very cozy and secluded-surrounded by English gardens and trees, you'll hardly feel like you are staying in the heart of Capitol Hill. Clean towels and linens will be provided along with a french press and fresh coffee. As for the neighborhood, there are too many restaurants, bars, cafes and parks in this incredibly vibrant and fun neighborhood to list. We are located just 6 blocks East of the West Lake Light Rail station. One block West of Broadway and one block North of the Pike/Pine corridor. A short walk from the Washington State Convention Center.
Full washer and dryer available at $2 per load
All guests will have access to the kitchen and it's utensils. The bathroom, living room and back patio are all available for guest use.
We work 9-5 jobs so check in will have to be after 5pm during the week but there is a chance one of us will be home during normal business hours so just ask. We can be flexible with your schedule. Guests can check in anytime on the weekend. Checkout will be at 11am.
We are located one block from all major bus lines and 6 blocks from the light rail which can transport you cheaply and easily to the airport or train/bus station. With an overall walking score of 90.
There is street parking available that is zoned for a 2 hour maximum limit during the hours of 9am to 6pm Monday through Saturday. Between 6pm and 9am street parking is unlimited. If you would rather park in a garage there is one located immediately nearby as well as two non-covered lots. Both options cost around $5-$10 per day.
-The Harvard Garage at Seattle Central Community College is located at:
1609 Harvard Avenue, Seattle, Washington 98122.
-The open lots are operated are located on Harvard and East Howell as well as Boylston and East Howell
-Garages and lots are all within 100 yards of the listing.
A welcome and inviting stay in (email hidden)anks Tommy and Cayla!
Tommy is a very kind host, the apartment is beautifully located in downtown Seattle, and the basement room was quiet and comfortable. All good!
What a comfortable bed! And their dog is cute and well-behaved too. Much thanks to Tommy for being understanding about my travel schedule and accommodating about my unpredictable check in time.
I was in town for a conference at the Westin Seattle, then to see Imagine Dragons at KeyArena. Being so close to the Pike/Pine corridor is very convenient, and makes downtown very accessible by foot if you can spare the time it talks to travel by walking.
The Westlake Station that connects to the Monorail and the Light rail are a 15 min minute walk away, and the Convention Place bus station is 10 minutes away from Tommy's place. Just a note for anyone who is interested in taking public transit.
One last tip for fellow travelers who choose to stay here: Tommy's townhouse is located in a cozy and secluded complex. [Yes, this is stated in the description :)] I wandered up and down the street confused for a bit not knowing I had to walk up and into the complex to find their address.
I phoned Tommy who came to meet me right away and offered to take my bag before leading me past all these gardens and up the steps to their place in the corner of the complex. If you're looking for a quiet place in an accessible area, this is the room for you!
Great stay with Tommy. Awesome area and comfortable bed for a reasonable price. Those looking for a solid, no-frills AirBnB experience in a great area will be happy here.
We had a great stay at Tommy's place on Capitol Hill. We traveled to Seattle for the Seahawks game and their location was excellent. A nice, leisurely walk down to the stadium. Tommy & Kayla were more than accommodating. We felt right at home in their cozy home. There is lots to do close to their apartment. Lots of restaurants, pubs and cafe's. The bed was super comfortable. We will definitely stay again.
The "Private Room on Capitol Hill" is openly and clearly advertised as a room in the basement. It is nothing fancy. Its location is great right behind Seattle Central Community College. (on East Olive Street NOT East Olive Way.) and Tommy and Cayla are great people. We felt very comfortable there. I would recommend it for anyone who needs a really nice bed with great sheets, in a basement spare room with a bathroom up the stairs. And their dog is cute too.
We selected this airbnb because it was close to where we wanted to be, but were disappointed in the room. The apartment was very clean, and the bed was comfortable, with lovely linens and warm blankets, but it was in the basement (as advertised), in a dark room with very bad lighting. Because the stairway to the basement was also used by an adjacent apartment, the doors to both the room and the stairwell were kept locked, making bathroom access somewhat difficult.
Our listing states the room is on a lower level offering complete privacy, we're not sure if Tom read this when he booked the room. We also explained to Tom that the lights in the room are on a dimmer switch, we're not sure if remembered this or used the extra lamps we provide. The door to the room has a lock on it ensuring the privacy of our guests and the security of their belongings. We gave Tom a room key upon his arrival and let him know locking his door was completely up to his own discretion and not at all a necessity. The hallway door is never locked so we're not sure why he felt accessing the bathroom was difficult. The bathroom and rest of the house are accessible to our guests 24 hours a day, we also made this very clear to Tom.
We had a great time staying at this location. It was perfect for our weekend stay and was centrally located to easily walk to any food or entertainment we could possibly want. It was quiet, comfortable, and we would definitely stay again.
Tommy was great host. He was very friendly and kind. House is great location. In the neighborhood, there are good bakery and cafe and many nice restaurants. The room was very comfortable. Thanks!
Tommy was a good host, the room was perfect and everything was provided. This was a good first experience with airbnb!
