Interaction with Guests
I love airbnb guests, but don't get to meet all of them. I prepare the apartments almost always between 1pm and 4pm. This one typically between 2pm and 3.30pm. If you're there when I come by to prepare it, i'll see you. Other than that probably not, though I'm always happy to meet you in Beacon Hill or by special arrangement.
Fenway Park, Fenway the Park (the "Back Bay Fens"/muddy river, rose garden, are all within a 'block'. Just beyond the MFA, esplanade and numerous colleges. What's not to love?
You are around the block from Kenmore B/C/D Green line station. Also many MBTA buses on the surface at Kenmore. The 1 bus to MIT/Central/Harvard Yard and to Symphony/Dudley is one longer block away. Yawkey station (Framingham/Worcester) is conveniently 3 min walking. Newbury st is also a short walk away. Recommend not having/taking or certainly parking any car you may have for the duration of your stay.
No Smoking anywhere on the property!
DO NOT ask anyone but me how to get into the building or where the lock box is
DO NOT mention airbnb to anyone around the building, or leave airbnb printouts laying around.
Sheets, towels and other cleaning are done by me. I do these things at different times. Always before dinner time (or before you arrive it's a really late arrival). Probably before 3pm, during the school year at about 1pm usually. If you have really specific needs, you should speak up ahead of time.
Never assume cleaning will happen before 3pm. 12noon-3pm check ins are a courtesy.
Occasionally cleaning happens 4pm-ish, always by 6pm and not after your arrival if arriving later. Do not write reviews about beds that were unmade if you were allowed to check in early.
In general no dogs please. Other pets are generally allowed, if for instance you happen to travel with your kitty...or ferret (check first)
Please confine trash to wastebaskets and take trash out (behind building on basement level, go out back door, place in red dumpsters--hard to miss!) if you are staying more than a couple days/ have significant/smelly trash that would be appreciated. Let's not give rodents/bugs a reason to try to invade the building.
-People who write reviews about how the trash wasn't taken out before 4pm on their arrival day then don't take it out themselves after their stay WILL actually be given a low cleanliness star rating.
-I provide lockout assistance as promptly as possible, and will typically go out of my way to do so. If you lost or broke the keys, you will owe up to $50 for their replacement. If you have an issue in the middle of the night you can try calling, but please be understanding (i'd rather be sleeping...). Do not ask about refunds for temporary problems with locks: again, I will provide assistance but not refunds. Refunds will only happen when I'm out of town and cannot assist or reasonably send someone else to assist.
this was our second reservation in the same trip in one of Sean's appartment. we reserve the other appartment thinking that maybe we dont like the first , better we have plan B. Bad idea.
this appartment was not so dirty like the other. more spacious and the bad is nicer, but we have the same problem with the second bed. it is terrible!!!nobody can sleep there. is not flat!!! we send Sean a message because he forget another time sheets and blankets for the second bed. He arrive this time very late and when we ask about this terrible bed, he can't give us a solution. crazy!!! we pay and pay and the service was disappointed. we can't recommend any of the appartments of Sean. Read all the comments of this year and you will see that more people say the same like me.
Neither apartment was dirty. I don't get Joan's deal. I DID go out there at night like 10pm or something (he could have asked about this when he arrived, at a reasonable time of day).. "he arrive this time very late"...yeah because he got in touch late... What?!? and I proceeded to adjust the mattress pad. In his reservation i thought they were a couple (he didn't really say), but were two lumberjack sized burly guys who needed separate beds and maybe this is more on him than on me, I think. I'm clear that its a pullout couch, and it's known that pullout couches are not perfect for everyone, especially large tall people. This is why you Won't find other people complaining much about this.
He didn't pay much to stay those nights in the Fenway...hard to help this guy i'm afraid..
The space was neat and clean. The location was tremendous if you are looking for the Fenway area. My son and I where able to go in, put down our stuff, walk around and go to the game. Be advised there is no wireless internet, and no TV. It says the pullout is a full, and it may be, but I would call it a very cozy one. this would definitely work for a couple and child, but two children would be pushing it I think. My only critic is small one, it would have been nice if there was an extra blanket or sheet in the closet, there was extra pillows. The host was accurate in his instructions, the fresh towels where laid out, bed made, key where it needed to be. We had a slight problem with the key and he responded to my text almost immediately. All in all, I would absolutely use it again if I needed to be in Fenway.
Great experience staying at Sean's place in Boston. Perfect airbnb apartment. Great location and easy access. Just do it :)
Good location, good price, and charming room&view! We enjoyed our stay. Sean was quick and kind to respond my questions during the stay. The floor was not super clean like costly hotels, so I glad that I brought my slippers. My family was happy and felt at home ;-) Thank you Sean!
Listing was accurate. Instructions to open lock box perfect. I had no trouble. Bed was comfortable for two and Sean brought an extra set of linen in case one of us wanted to sleep on couch. Location close to T (5 min walk), Starbucks, park. Noisy but just run the AC and it will be fine. As noted in listing, Sean did come by at about 3 to bring fresh linen but no cleaning was done e.g. not sure who last used bathroom and it would have made sense to have it cleaned. Apartment could use a good cleaning e.g. sweep/dry mop floors and dust. Location is great: about 15 minute cab ride to airport on a Sunday morning. Sean was responsive to questions via email/text. He is a friendly guy and we chatted a bit when he stopped by. checkin and check out times were a good fit for us.
The apartment was lovely and made our trip to Boston truly enjoyable. It was the perfect size and location for the two of us! Although we didn't get to meet Sean in person, he was always available, responsive and extremely friendly. We would highly recommend this place to our friends and stay here if in Boston again!
Sean was very responsive to us, and a very nice guy. The apartment was as described and expected. Warning- there is a significant amount of noise at night, with Fenway right behind. They collect the trash on Saturday morning before dawn and the party animals are vocal. Earplugs recommended if you sleep with the windows open.

About the Host, Sean
I have been hosting people from all over the world through Airbnb for more than three years now and have really enjoyed the experience. Chatting with guests upon check in lets me not only tell them what a great city Boston is and how much it has to offer but to also listen to stories of where they live or have been to. That's what makes Airbnb such a great community builder in my mind - connecting people from all parts and walks of life.
Just like all of the travelers that I've hosted, I am a traveler myself - having been to a number of countries in Central Asia, Europe, and lived for a time in Micronesia. Each time I travel, I make sure to find a local connection to tell me about places off the beaten path that a tourist guide might miss, and if all else fails - I just enjoy seeing where my feet (or a local bus/train/subway) take me. So if you're looking for the best Ethiopian food in Boston or a little known museum (a whole room of the most realistic glass flowers hand blown in the 19th century), I can definitely point you in the right direction.
Speaking of directions, I bike a LOT around town and would be happy to provide a bike when you stay at either of my places. Boston may have a great (oldest in North America) subway system, but sometimes it's just nice to get on a bike and see where the next street takes you!
What keeps me not only travelling on Airbnb but also hosting are the notes that I frequently get, letting me know what a great time someone had or how much they enjoyed visiting a part of city I mentioned to them. These notes always put a smile on my face and leave me knowing that I have made someone's visit memorable!
