It’s also 30 minutes south of the retirement community of Green Valley, Arizona, and about 45 minutes south of Tucson. Even though the address shows Rio Rico, the house is really east of Tumacacori.

This is considered the Santa Cruz River Valley and is an interesting, historical area where Father Kino, a Jesuit Priest from Spain, founded numerous missions in the 1600s and 1700s. In fact the house is just east across the Santa Cruz River from Tumacacori National Historical Park, home of one of those historic missions (see (website hidden) for more information).

Joyce is a terrific host. The directions to her lovely home were accurate and easy to follow. She made us feel so welcome. Her home is located in a quiet rural area with views of the mountains from both the front and back. There is always a shaded patio area for that afternoon refreshment. The bedroom is very comfortable with a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The private bath is lovely and right next to the room.
Joyce goes all out and provides healthy home baked good and a delicious breakfast.
This is an area I would like to explore more. It is close to Tubac, which should not be missed. Another highlight is the Tumacacori Mission. Joyce is very knowledgable about the area and helped direct us to Kartchner Caves via a shortcut that took us through interesting small towns and world renown birding areas. We had a terrific time and highly recommend San Cayento.
Joyce is a FANTASTIC host. She is welcoming and most of all caring. Your comfort is very important to her. I stayed for 8 days and everyday was a pleasure. This is a Bed and Breakfast and Joyce takes this very seriously. You will sit down to a splendid breakfast every day! THANK YOU, Joyce.
My host made me feel very welcome and took great care in making sure I was comfortable and taken care of. I enjoyed taking walks too, the views are beautiful!
Beautiful house and setting. Quiet neighborhood. Joyce made me feel totally welcomed and cared for. Super-delicious breakfast!
I am originally from Michigan, but fell in love with southern Arizona and moved here in the mid 1980's. I previously enjoyed owning a B&B at Elephant Head near Green Valley, AZ, for five years. I also own Joyride Southwest Tours and enjoy showing people from around the world the beauty, history, and culture of the southwest. If you would like more information about tours I provide in the area, go to (website hidden). I spent a few years in Honduras, Central America, and have traveled across the U.S. and various places in Mexico. Entonces, hablo español.
