Private Entrance & Bathroom

Apartment - Private room · Lapidge Street, San Francisco, CA 94110, United States

Great location! 1 block to Valencia, 2 blocks to Dolores Park, 8 minute walk to BART. There is a queen size bed with memory foam mattress, a
queen size futon, small refrigerator and microwave, and access to the backyard.

The Space

The space is on the ground floor with sliding glass doors that open to the back yard. The main room has a queen size bed, dresser, desk, and queen size futon, cable tv, and shelves to organize your stuff.
There is a small room outside of the bathroom that
has table, small fridge, and microwave.Since it is not a real kitchen, there are disposable plates and utensils because doing dishes in the bathroom would not be a good idea for our plumbing. You will find a coffee maker and the basics to make your coffee. There is also a W/D in that room.

The bathroom has a curtain for a door, the toilet is under the stairs, so a sloping ceiling and there is a sink and shower.

Guest Access

The separate access is via a ground level hall that takes you from the street to the separate entrance and backyard. The hall is were the refuse is stored for the building as well as bikes.

Interaction with Guests

With your separate entrance, you will basically be on your own but we are always available to answer questions or offer advice about our neighborhood and city.

The Neighborhood

The Mission is hard to describe. It is vibrant, and a little bit of all that SF has to offer. There is great food, and the best people and this block of SF has the best micro-climate in the whole city. I feel lucky to live here.

Getting around

BART is 4 blocks away(Bay Area Rapid Transit). 14 and 49 bus are 2 blocks away(Mission St, downtown, Ghiradelli Sq). J-Church train is 3 blocks(downtown, Noe Valley). 33 is half a block(Casto, Haight)

Parking is difficult.

  • Another fantastic stay with Karen. Again, the room was perfectly set up, the kitchen stocked with coffee, teas, assorted granola bars & some fruit. The bathroom is fully stocked as well, beautiful plush towels, toiletries if you happen to forget something. My last stay was great, however, there was some issue with noise. She seemed to have done something to correct this because I slept soundly through the night, not noticing any noise. I will gladly stay with Karen again.

  • Karen was extremely accommodating and helpful. Her room was so comfortable (bed is the best I've ever slept on). Highly recommended!

  • Fantastic experience! Staying here was like having an entire studio apartment -- there is a separate entrance and a little kitchenette. The room was pleasant and the bed was extremely comfortable (memory foam!) with really nice bedding. The location is fantastic (one block from Tartine!). Karen was very easy to coordinate with, and has set up the experience in a way that is very thoughtful and easy for the guest.

I will absolutely be checking back with Karen the next time I'm in town! Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

  • We had a wonderful stay thanks to Karen. She was helpful, friendly and responded quickly to all our messages. She was accommodating with our request for a later check out time, gave us loads of helpful info before our arrival and was there to greet us when we arrived.

The apartment was also perfect. It was private, had been cleaned to a high standard and had all sorts of thoughtful items in case you had forgotten anything. The location was also great for walking around the mission and castro and yet was super quiet at night, although the walls are quite thin so you can hear the neighbours. Perhaps best of all was the memory foam mattress, which was amazingly comfortable, ensuring a perfect rest after a long day's walking!

We'd definitely stay there again. Thanks Karen.

  • Everything was great. Karen was very responsive and helpful (esp. when I managed to lock myself out one time...) and the room was perfect. Highly recommend and I hope I can stay again next time I'm in SF!

  • Karen was a great host. The room was clean, the memory foam bed was wonderful, and the outside patio was a great area to drink coffee in the morning or just relax. She went out of her way to make the stay comfortable. I plan to visit San Francisco again and would not want to stay anywhere else. The location is close to transportation, restaurant, and the local nightlife. I felt safe and had no problem walking around in the evenings with my family.

  • A comfortable, cosy place with a lot of privacy, in a great neighbourhood. And a lovely host. Thank you Karen!

  • The room was perfect. I didn't meet Karen but the room was really nice, well equipped & comfortable. I forgot to pack my toothbrush and Karen had a new one in a small box, saving me from going to the store. Centrally located & quiet, I would stay with Karen again.

  • Karen proved to be a fantastic host and I absolutely recommend staying with her.

First of all, the room was extremely clean, had all the comforts you need (fast wifi, spacious bathroom, small desk and TV, comfortable shower and even a washer and dryer. Karen has obviously thought out the guest experience as the lay-out and amenities are very complete and comfortable. The room is private and with a separate entrance, it is very easy to come and go without feeling that you are disturbing your hosts.

The location is great, as it is in a safe area of the mission, very close to Delores Park and some great brunch and drink spots on and around the mission. The street itself is well lit and quiet.

We stayed during the switch from winter to summer time, so Karen extended the check-out time by one hour. On top of that she let us store our luggage so we could pick it up later, while we were having brunch around the corner.

I finished my MBA in June 14 years ago, and quit my job the next month and have been a stay-at-home mom since. My husband is from Bangladesh, and I am lucky to have been able to travel there and India and stay with family and really get to see life as they live it everyday. I prefer to get off the tourist trail when I travel. Favorite destination is Thailand.
