  • Robert is a great host and a lovely person! We had easy and efficient communication. Everything pertaining to our stay has been pleasant, personable and comfortable. The place is very nicely located and the surrounding neighborhood has a lot to offer. Great food and easy Subway connections to everywhere. We would love to go back a next time!

  • We were in New York for our daughter's wedding. She lives on the Upper West Side of Manhattan & we usually stay with her. However, our other daughter and her husband and son were coming from London for the wedding and we wanted a BnB situation not too far from Manhattan for the 5 of us. This apartment filled the bill perfectly.

The pictures are totally accurate. The home is beautiful with all the amenities you could want. The bedrooms are good sizes and the 2.5 baths are updated. The beds are comfortable and the linens plush. The kitchen is very well equipped. We spent many evenings in the court yard and the carriage house relaxing and enjoying family.

The apartment is in a residential area within reach of several different subway stations & lines. It is also very close to groceries and restaurants.

Best of all Robert made us feel quite at home. He was always available to us when we wanted suggestions for places to eat and visit or car hire. He was also invisible when we wanted privacy. He was responsive to any and all calls and emails.

We couldn't have been more pleased and highly recommend this AirBnB property.

    Thank you, Robert!

  • My wife and I participated in a family event in Brooklyn earlier this month and we wanted to just stress the pleasure we experienced in staying at this location. Everything was exactly as described in the ad. The duplex location was great, a couple of blocks from major commercial streets, lined with quaint stores and restaurants. It is also located at walking distance from a subway hub on Atlantic avenue, that connects you to Manhattan/Coney Island or many other places).
The house itself can easily accommodate 6 people (provided that you share one of the 2 bathrooms for the people staying in the separate studio). It is overall pretty quiet and private, particularly at night since the two main bedrooms are upstairs and a bit away from the street noise). The outside patio would certainly be a great spot for a beer or an afternoon tea (even though we were too busy to really enjoy it).
The house is fully furnished and supplied with all expected goodies and amenities: linens and blankets, pillows, towels, plates and dishes, etc... In addition, you may even benefit from some food items left over from previous tenants... You may enjoy the local internet connection along with a couple of big screens TVs and Bose music system as well. Finally, there is a spacious basement where you can find washer, dryer, iron and ironing board, etc...
Robert is a kind and affable host, very attentive to his guests needs. He'll provide you with maps and advice on the neighborhood resources. Overall, you really have the impression of enjoying your own" home away from home" instead of a tight impersonal hotel room... I would highly recommend this place or stay there again if needed in the future.

  • Un duplex très agréable et spacieux dans un quartier typique de Brooklyn, à moins de 10 minutes à pieds des principales lignes de métro desservant Manhattan.

Nous y avons passé une super semaine en avril, très bien accueilli et conseillé par Robert.

    A recommander vivement.

  • The appartment was huge, very well placed (close to almost all metro stations), quiet and one feels very great there. Robert is also a great host. I can only recommend it further.

  • We stayed at roberts apartement for 8 nights and really appreciated and enjoyed our stay. The apartement was very clean and tidy and had sufficiently large rooms. Robert was a great host. He was really helpful and gave us a lot of recommendations for our stay in nyc. The location is perfect (metro nearby) and the neighbour hood is really lovely (lots of restaurants and bar). We definiteley recommend a stay at roberts brownstone.

  • Just came back from staying five nights at this really lovely Brklyn duplex with our two teen boys and 22 yr. old niece. Third time visiting nyc. First time in Brklyn as we always stayed in Manhattan before.
    Here are my thoughts.
convenience: 10 minute walk to three different metro stations. accessing Manhattan and all its sites are easy. Parking was no issue for us. We parked on the street for free. Just read the signs carefully for different restrictions. Really good restaurants nearby. Ask Robert for specifics. He's friendly and informative. He recommended the new Highline path in Manhattan and it was really a cool place to do a walk....

The Flat: spacious. Clean. Interesting decor... All amenities you can think of....I brought my own hair dryer( didnt see one there). I already miss being there. My niece enjoyed sleeping in the cool carriage house! Will stay there again and would recommend this place to friends.

Dont forget to walk down to Smith anf Court streets to enjoy the many delightful shops and cafes. When in Manhattan, eat a cornbeef sandwich at Katz deli. Walk a few blocks to Eileens on Cleveland street and eat a slice of cheesecake! Light and fluffy....you wont regret it.

Hi, I'm the building's caretaker and live and work upstairs. On the roof I grow tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, herbs, corn, lettuce and beans, which feed me and my fiance and all the local squirrels for all but the dark months. My passions are cooking, horticulture, music, travel and design. I'm here if you need me and more than happy to point you to all the great music venues and culinary hotspots in the hood and beyond.
