  • We enjoyed our stay! Very neat and clean, bed was very comfy memory foam type. Out in the countryside, beautiful scenery. Just up the road is a farm with endangered horses and donkeys they are bring back from near extinction. We are close to Woodstock where there is a creamery with amazing breakfasts! The other direction is the harpoon brewery.

  • In our short trip to the area we found this great room in Rowena's house. It was big and cozy, a place to relax. Rowena treat us nicely and she was a very good hostess. I would recommend this place to stay.

  • Rowena's a lovely person who will certainly make you feel welcome.
We enjoyed breakfast and a engaging conversation with her, including her encounters with wildlife around the home! We had a clean and comfortable large room in a house on a small part of Vermont's green (or in our case, snowy white!) rolling hills.

  • My two teen-aged children and I had a lovely time staying with Rowena when we traveled to Vermont and New Hampshire visiting colleges. She was a fantastic host! We had three lovely beds sharing one room. All of us were very comfortable and when we awoke we were thrilled to see snow on the ground! Rowena cooked us a warm breakfast and then we were off to see more colleges. I would highly recommend staying here to see the snow or the beautiful fall leaves. She is high in the mountains so there is a great view.

My boyfriend and I felt at home in Rowena's house. Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated with a just-right mattress on the clean bed. Rowena added VALUE to our stay. She communicates well prior to our arrival. She fixed the light breakfast we wanted. She engaged in lively conversation when we wanted company, and she left us alone when we wanted privacy. We arrived in a hurry to fix appetizers and get in costume for a Halloween party, and she gave me a dramatic hairdo (she's an experienced hair stylist)! We loved the cats. If you don't just ignore them.

  • Rowena has a lovely home and we felt right at home. She is a very neat and tidy person and her home is very clean. She has two cats...I am allergic to cats but told her this and she made sure to keep the door to our bedroom closed after changing the bed linens prior to our arrival and I had no allergic symptoms during our stay. One cat isn't even seen as it stays outside. The other is too old and sick to be running around. We loved the layout of her home and the beds were super comfortable. We came with our 22 yo daughter and stayed together in the same room which had a futon bed. Our bed has a tempurpedic/memory foam mattress and it was SUPER comfortable! She also made us breakfast! That was an added perk that isn't expected with our lodging. We really appreciated it. She wrote out directions for us to find our way around and recommended some great sights and restaurants. We went to Bentley's Restaurant in downtown Woodstock for dinner, and even though it isn't cheap, it was superb! So enjoyed our meal there. Make sure you go see the Quechee Gorge if you stay here. It is awesome. We only had one night's stay but would have easily stayed more. You will not be disappointed! Thank you Rowena and best wishes!

  • Rowena was extremely welcoming. I failed to have dinner before my arrival and she kindly offered me dinner to save me a long trip back into town. Very friendly and conversational, yet gave me a chance to unwind on my own.

  • I had a very pleasant stay at Rowena's house together with 3 of my friends. The house has the most terrific view of the mountains of Vermont (on a clear day you can look all the way to New Hampshire). You can even see the view from the living room - we really enjoyed that!
Rowena is really friendly and welcoming and a great hostess. She let us use her dining table and living room for studying all weekend and it was really comfortable being around her. We had some interesting talks about the life in Vermont and the wild life around.
She also contributed to our stay by providing directions and recommending nearby restaurant or sights. This was really helpful. Furthermore she made the most delicious english muffins and eggs we have ever tasted!

Thank you for a nice weekend in Vermont, Rowena!
