Interaction with Guests
A local Property Management Company in Luquillo will assist you on your arrival for your convenience and during your stay.
Our condo offers the traveler all the needed amenities and comfort at an affordable price. The property is gated for security with a well lit parking area. A great neighborhood in a vacation area with owners and vacationers from PR and else where.

A car is recommended for your stay. There is a Supermarket you could walk to but it's a mile or more. San Juan is about 30 minutes away via PR 3 or take the Toll road from Rio Grande. The Ferry to Culebra and Vieques in Fajardo is less than twenty minutes away ( $4 dollars or less round trip!). El Yunque Rain Forest National Park is ten minutes by car.

Our stay at Eric and Sheila's was great from beginning to end! The location could not have been any better - beach access, close to the kiosks and equally distant from Fajardo and San Juan. El Yunque was also close by and there was a park just a mile walk away (Balneario) for runners/walkers.
The place was true to the listing and included everything we needed and a few extras. We enjoyed the beach chairs, the coffee maker and appreciated the washer/dryer. We found the place clean and ready for our stay. The Playa Azul management company was courteous and prompt in meeting us with the keys and Eric was quick to respond to all of our questions. We also found the binder full of local information helpful and left a few recommendations for future guests.
The sea breeze was our favorite!
Jessica, Glad you enjoyed the condo and Puerto Rico as much as Sheila and I do. We can't wait to return this month for the Winter. We truly enjoy sharing it with our guests. It's a gem and we look forward to making it the best place to stay on Playa Azul Beach. We were so fortunate to have found it. Eric and Sheila
Our small family of two adults and two small children overall enjoyed our stay here with Eric and Sheila. Here's a breakdown of our experience:
1. Location - You really can't get better than across the street from the beach. When we first arrived we briefly second-guessed the neighborhood because of the bars on the windows, locked gates, and bombed-out looking buildings next to high-rises. We discovered though that Luquillo is more of a "Where-Puerto-Ricans-vacation" type place. We were short driving distances from grocery stores, restaurants, and Walgreens. We enjoyed walking both ways down the beach to explore, and found calm enough places for one of our children to swim, though locals warned us of rip tides that I think had a lot to do with the coastal flood warnings prevalent while we were there. The condo is also conveniently located to San Juan, El Yunque, and some The Northeast coast.
2. Amenities - the condo is true to what is shown on photographs. We found the kitchen accoutrements to be a huge plus, especially the crock pot, as we prefer to eat most meals at home. All appliances and electronics were clean, worked well, and were new-ish, except for the oven/stove. The exterior of the oven and stove were extremely rusted and pitted, and some dials were missing. We were glad for the crock pot because we were scared to use the oven. Bathroom was clean but dated, and the removable shower head was helpful in cleaning up from the beach. Bedroom was clean with fresh linens, and the A/C worked well. We enjoyed the availability of family DVDs and didn't watch any other tv but also enjoyed the music channels.
3. Hosts - everyone was friendly and helpful, but we had a little bit of trouble reaching the property manager when we were arriving and trying to get keys to the place. We were given several numbers and had to call all of them and leave messages before our phone calls were returned and we got the keys. We had some questions about checkout and after I called, Eric promptly texted me back.
Glad you enjoyed your stay. We arrive in PR next weekend and a new stove is on the list for this Winter. The salt air is hard on appliances and metals. A price for being on the beach I guess. We have other renovations planned as we continue to update and improve our PR home away from home for us and our guests. Hope you choose to stay with us again. Eric and Sheila
We have addressed Gabi's cleanliness issues with our Property Manager and the Cleaning Staff. We hope that future guests that find the cleanliness of the condo unacceptable bring it to our attention at check-in so we may send the cleaning staff out to correct any issues. Sheila and I will be in Luquillo for the Winter an intent to continue improving the condo with more new appliances and fixtures. We have apologized to Gabi for for the issues she found.
Eric and Sheila's place was a good place for us to relax and be ON the beach. The apartment is large and VERY breezy due to it being so close to the ocean. It was clean and the building was very secure. I enjoyed the helpful notes and binder full of info from Sheila. Laundry was a big plus as well as a locked gated parking lot.
We were very satisfied with our stay at Eric and Sheila's place. It's in a perfect location if you're wanting to visit El Yunque, Carrabali, La Culebra and Bio bay. We did them all!
It's centrally located and easy drive to all these excursions. We stayed a week and felt it was very affordable. The first day rained all day so we spent a lot of our day in which in the end was a great way of forcing me to relax. We arrived late and it was raining which made it difficult and uncomfortable to find at first because Playa Azul didn't give specific road directions or address to use (website hidden) map. The surroundings were unexpected but the following day when the sun was up it was a beautiful view! We were alone most of the time in the building and felt very safe. We loved having the washer/dryer and we cooked a couple times for breakfast. Also loved hearing the coqui frogs at night! Reading the notes left in the binder was nice which also prompted me to write a very long one (sorry) but we did so much I wanted to make sure future visitors new there is amazing fun to be had here and delicious Puerto Rican food to eat!

We already want to plan a second trip! This was the first part of our very first trip to Puerto Rico and I'm happy to say that we can't wait to go back! The apartment was just as described. Clean, quiet and charming with the beach right across the street! This time of year it was incredibly quiet with only a few people on the beach every day and a few more families on the weekend. We seemed to be the only residents in the whole building except for a person that was working on spiffing up the apartment downstairs. We felt comfortable and safe even with having a 2 year old with us. Everything we could have wanted (and more) was provided in the apartment. The diving mask and boogie board were a special treat! We never had the opportunity to meet Eric and Sheila, but they were always prompt with there responses and helpful. Getting the keys was a little confusing as we arrived on a Sunday and the office to pick them up was closed, but overall it worked out just fine. The management group was pleasant to work with and very helpful when there was any questions. The apartment's proximity to San Juan and El Yunque was just icing on the cake! We would stay here again in heartbeat!
We had an extremely positive experience with Eric and Sheila and their condo. Eric was very prompt in returning emails prior to our visit. Enoc was our point of contact on site and made us feel more comfortable knowing he was only a phone call away if we needed anything. The neighborhood threw us off a little bit as everything was barred up and most places were protected with barbed wire. But we didn't get a bad vibe from the neighborhood and felt very safe. The condo was adorable. Quaint and well-decorated, in the perfect location right off of the beach. We felt very safe with the gated parking and gated complex. The view was perfect. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony with our glass of wine. There was an AC unit in the bedroom which kept us very comfortable. The bedroom stayed very dark (but be careful...we slept in until 10am the first night because the darkness was so perfect!). I liked that the showerhead was removable (helpful for getting sand out of unpleasant places) and the washer & dryer were a huge plus (for when I did unexpected things like jump under a waterfall fully clothed!). The binder full of instructions and information was extremely helpful. It helped us make the most out of our stay. We would definitely come back to Eric and Sheila's condo and recommend it to all of our friends!
Eric and Sheila Cargill live in York Beach, Maine. We are both semi-retired and love spending part of our Winter in Puerto Rico. We found this amazing beach front condo on Playa Azul Beach in Luquillo, PR and hope to share it with with others when we are not in PR ourselves.
