Our stay at casita linda was wonderful! The scenery is gorgeous! Glad we decided to stay here and not somewhere in the heart of the city! Sandra at the front desk of the resort near casita linda is extremely friendly and definetly helped us enhance our stay, by helping us call taxis and recommending things to see in the area! it was nice to be able to enjoy the amenities of the resort while still getting seclusion and privacy! The view outside the two glass walls was beautiful, especially during sunrise! We throughly enjoyed our stay here and will definetly return in the future!
We travel alot, and this casita is the coolest place we have ever stayed. It is very private and secluded. All Glass walls on 2 sides of the room with sliding doors out to the deck so the openness really makes it roomy. The outside kitchen on the deck is great for cooking your own meals, great atmosphere for morning pancakes or an evening dinner.
The food at restaurant is also good.
Communication with Linda was excellent and easy to contact by email or phone.
Close to airport so very nice place to stay at the beginning or end of your trip. 20 minutes. Beats a hotel. Taxi $35 from airport.
Car rental $60 a day, the resort will set it up and have a car de,liveried.
Nice hiking at the resort and nice pool, we also used the pool at the casita.
The only downside was no WIFI in the room but it is available in the restaurant or reception area.
We stayed 3 nights at the beginning of our trip and 3 nights at the end. Very quiet and peaceful.
The resort is lovely and very safe. The staff took excellent care of us: assisting our travel arrangements, excursions, and dietary needs. The views from the hotel pool and restaurant are amazing. Unfortunately, the casita suffered from neglect in terms of its plumming, amenities, and linens. Still we enjoyed the jungle surroundings, waking to the sounds of howler monkeys and bamboo forests.
My boyfriend and I had a great time staying at Casita Linda. It's part of the Vista del Valle Plantation Inn, so it had all the amenities of a larger resort (pool, restaurant on-site, staff to help organize offsite adventures) while still being quite isolated and private. The Plantation property is wonderful - we went horseback riding and hiking (300 feet down to the bottom of the waterfall!) - and it's easy enough to get a driver (through the Inn staff) to take guests to other places like volcanoes and zipline sites.
The room itself is quite small - essentially just a bed in a room. Two walls were glass doors, and there were no curtains. There wasn't anyone around to look inside (that we knew of), but you might feel a little uncomfortable because of this. There was a small kitchen outside that we didn't use (microwave, toaster oven, sink), and a hammock that we did.
The bugs at night were out of control - HUNDREDS flying around, especially these big beetles about the size of a quarter. Generally, it was fine if we kept the screen doors closed (although getting in and out to go to dinner was an adventure), but a few beetles got in and were a little annoying. We were told that it was one of the worst possible weeks for beetles (right between the dry season and the wet season), but we also saw tons of leafcutter ants, spiders, and other nature that if you're not excited about, you'll probably want to stay somewhere more urban.
Overall, though, an amazing place to stay if you don't mind a little nature. Great to have all the amenities of a resort (pool, restaurant, staff to help plan adventures) and the isolation of a wonderful little casita!
We are orginally from Minnesota, but lived in our Costa Rica home for 3 years. Moved back to Texas to be near our son, daughterlaw and 1st GRANDCHILD. Enjoyed the weather, people and discovering the many areas of Costa Rica
