There is plenty of Public Transportation in our area. We will also have a list of Cab Telephone numbers for your convenience in the bedroom. There will be FREE PARKING available directly outside of our home if you are driving.

Please no smoking in the house. We have an ash tray and comfortable seating on the back porch :)

We have an indoor cat, Dusty, and a Canine pal named Siren. Both are cute, well behaved, quiet and friendly. If your door is closed, they will never bother you. They are never allowed in the guest room while guests are here and away.

**Vibrant and urban area...this is the City, definitely not the suburbs! -- with people on the street, buses, traffic, can be loud - but our block has very little traffic and remains rather quiet.**

Guest Access

Guests have access to most everything in the home. The guest room is 100% private. The rest of the house would be shared with Amy and myself. There is a beautiful bathroom right outside of the guest room for easy access. You will have full use of a very large kitchen and dining room. Plenty of room for cooking and eating delicious food! The living room is relaxing and comfortable. Lots of couch space and a wood fireplace. You will also have access to a shared office space and a washer and dryer on the second floor.

Interaction with Guests

Amy and I spend some evenings in the home but during the day we are either working or exploring the city. Most weekends we are out with friends or getting dinner in the city/ seeing a film. You are welcome to spend as much time with us as you would like but we will give you all the space you need. We are great hosts and tour guides!

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Kurt and Amy suggested to pick us up at Bolt bus station, and I think that was already a way to see that they are awesome hosts!
The house itself is genuine, simple, with a modern vintage design, every single thing reflects the personality of its owner ... The kind of place where you feel comfortable and not afraid to move then break something :) ... The room was exactly as it is shown on the picture, the bed was fine too. We only stayed for a night so we joined them for a short bbq to enjoy their cute back yard which reminds me of those romantic movies !! They serve lemonade in messengers and we had coffee in those metal cups which are also used in Madagascar, that was amazing for me!
1600 North Patton, which is about 7min to 10min to center city, is very close to the Zoo and the Boathouse Row, you can also walk through the Fairmont park then reach the back entrance of the Museum of Art, which was really fascinating!
Kurt and Amy are "relaxed" and openminded hosts and that's just the way Aina and I like it ! We plan to come back again next year!

  • Kurt and Amy's place was spacious, clean, well equipped and tastefully decorated. They were very communicative and accommodating hosts leaving a key for us while we were out exploring the city. The only minor issue that we weren't prepared for was the surrounding area seemed a bit on the rough side of town. We didn't feel entirely comfortable walking around the immediate area so opted for cabs to get to town. Other than that, we very much enjoyed our stay and very accommodating hosts in an beautiful, bright, open and comfortable space.

  • This was our first AirBnB experience so we weren't sure what to expect. But it couldn't have gone better. Kurt and Amy were so nice and helpful and gave us some great suggestions for places to hang out in the area. Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived. They were flexible about accommodating our early arrival time which was great. And the place is very nicely designed and decorated. I highly recommend them. The location was perfect for a morning spent at Fairmont Park and an afternoon of checking out local bars and restaurants.

  • Kurt and Amy are great hosts. We arrived later than expected and even though they wanted to go out, they waited for us and were cool about it. They were helpful in giving us suggestions where to eat and made freshly brewed coffee in the morning. Their house is really great designed and decorated and the room is clean and comfortable. Also their cat "Dusty" is just the best.
If you have a car, you can park it outside. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • Kurt and Amy are terrific hosts! They were kind, helpful, and accommodating throughout our stay. Some of the big reasons why they were great:
-Driving in from NYC, my friend and I were running later than anticipated and they were very cool about it.
-When we arrived, they offered advice on transportation around Philly and even thoughtfully offered to give us a ride into Center City (where they were headed as well).
-After we came back from a night out in Philly with friends, they offered us some of the food they had cooked, and a box of macaroni and cheese. They've earned a place in our hearts for that one..
-In the morning, Amy made extra coffee for us and we chatted about Philly, cats, etc
-They have a very cool cat named Dusty who is friendly and awesome.

Also, their apartment is HUGE, well-decorated, clean, brightly lit, welcoming, and just plain cool. I'd recommend them to anyone.

  • The room was quiet and clean, bed was super comfortable. You share the bathroom with your hosts but it is kept clean & orderly. Plenty of good coffee is available for breakfast. If you have a car this (email hidden); however the 'hood is definitely on the seedy side. The closest attraction is the art museum, which is a short car drive away. Busses are a few blocks away but not Philly's awesome metro so weather and time could be a factor. Since there are no nearby cafés, you'll want to bring your own supplies for breakfast.

  • Their home was beautiful, their cat friendly and their hospitality warm and generous. Thank you again Amy and Kurt.

We are young professionals living in the city of Philadelphia. We enjoy exploring, hiking, seeing films, and discovering new restaurants. We both work in creative fields and enjoy being artistic at our jobs and in our home. Amy is an incredible photographer and I can make a mean latte. We believe our home should be more than just a place to rest your head. Our home is an expression of who we are and we like to make it as comfortable for our guests as possible. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
