Want to experience a colorful, lively, multi-cultural Parisian neighborhood, a little bit off the beaten path? Welcome to the Château Mary. Well OK, it's not really a château, but it's a cozy, brightly-lit, quiet apartment in Paris' 18th district -- near the old artist village of Montmartre.

If you like markets, it's a 5 minute walk to the Marché aux Puces St-Ouen de Clignancourt, the world's largest and longest-running flea market. There is also an open-air market at my doorstep where I get all my fruits & vegetables on Tues, Friday & Sunday mornings.

Wonderful restaurants, cafés & pastry shops are all around. I'll be happy to point you to the best ones. Climb to the Sacré Coeur via charming neighborhoods on the non-touristy side of Montmartre in about 20 minutes (or just hop on the Montmartrebus!).
Your bedroom has a comfortable queen-sized bed. Bedding and a towel are provided. There are some hooks to hang clothes.

There is also wifi, a hair dryer & straightener, coffee, tea and good karma.

The flat is on the 2nd French floor with no lift. I have no pets and I don't smoke.

Metro station Jules Joffrin on the line 12 is 6 minutes on foot and is direct to Abbesses, Pigalle, St. Lazare, Madeleine, Concorde, Musee d'Orsay, etc. If you prefer the bus, there are a multitude of lines nearby.

  • Paris would not have been quite so great without Mary!

Her description of her flat was perfect. Her communication regarding arrival was very helpful - she made sure to meet us at a local establishment and walk us to her apartment. Lots of very specific information about the metro and navigating around the city. She basically covered all the bases. We are so happy to have found her.
The apartment was darling and very comfortable. Warm and cozy.
Mary took me around to the street market with her which was so sweet. We bought fruit and veggies and pastries.
Just can't say enough positive things about our stay.
    Thank you so much, Mary.

  • Mary's place is clean, spacious and lovely. Conveniently located near metro, it's quick to get to other parts of Paris, and the heart of Montmatre is walking distance. Mary has got everything I needed and I've enjoyed living like a local, having drinks in a bar, going to cinema with her neighbor. Mary is super friendly, knowledgeable about Paris and I liked her instantly. I highly recommend staying in her place, and I'll definitely come back.

  • My stay at Mary's place was absolutely perfect! I couldn't have asked for a better host for my first airbnb experience.

The bedroom and apartment was exactly what I had expected after looking at photos, and Mary seemed like an old friend. We got along beautifully, and she had breakfast with me two times during my stay. She had great advice for places to see and how to get around town, and she let me borrow a book of street maps that came in handy at least once or twice.

There are metro stations very close by, meaning you can get anywhere in Paris easily from the apartment. I chose to walk to various locations, visiting Sacre Coeur, the red light district, a cemetery, and several shopping locations on foot.

I loved that the bedroom had a huge floor to ceiling window that you can open right up to let the breeze in, and the bed was large and comfortable.

Being my first time in Paris, it was great to have an apartment like Mary's to use as a home base. I really felt like I was living in Paris instead of just visiting.

There were all kinds of little shops to visit just a few blocks from the apartment, including bakeries, grocery stores, gift shops, cafes, beauty salons, and more. I was blown away by how convenient the metro system is and how quickly you can reach your destination just by hopping a train.

I highly recommend staying at Mary's place if you'd like to experience Paris. She speaks both French and English and will make you feel right at home. One of the best travel experiences I've had yet, thank you so much Mary.

  • My stay with Mary was great. She has a nice, clean and bright apartment, the room was very comfortable - warm, clean, big and bright (nice big window). Th bathroom and shower was also good - enough space, clean and lovely hot shower. Mary is a lovely person, she was freindly and very helpful with any questions I asked. She had a great welcome book full of things to do while in Paris, maps and phrase books I could use during my stay. Mary's apartment is conveniently located, it is very close (i.e. walking distance) to metro lines, restaurants, cafes supermarket, pharmacy, ATM and also Sacre Coeur and Montmartre. I would stay with Mary again :)

  • Mary is a wonderful host! So smart and so helpful. She had great advice for us and even helped us buy our temporary mobile phone for travel in Europe. This was our first stay in Paris and it was so great to be a bit off the beaten path but right on a Metro line, minutes to places we wanted to see. Also this was our very first Airbnb experience and what perfect way to become a fan! Mary suggested a neighborhood jazz club for our last night in Paris and it was perfect. She seemed to know what was just right for us. Thanks Mary!

  • C'est vraie: there really is something about Mary! From the moment we began corresponding, even before meeting in person, Mary was very gracious, helpful, and accommodating. She kindly agreed to meet me at a convenient location upon my arrival to her neighborhood, and immediately warmed my heart with her genuine nature and easy-going spirit. I was inspired by Mary's resourcefulness - and knack for giving directions - as she shared a wide range of Parisian possibilities and stories with me. Mary made me feel right at home, and I would certainly keep her place in mind for future visits!
