We really enjoyed our stay at Valerio's place. He was very helpful and the most helpful Italian we have come across. The apartment was very spacious, comfortable and in a great location. Minutes from bus stop and strain station. Thanks Valerio waiting for when you come to visit Australia.
Very nice Apartment very close to the train station Trastevere. The Apartment was very clean and perfect for a big family like us:-). Valerio is a very helpful and nice host. Just perfect:-). Also a tram station is just a very short walk away from the Apartment. Best conditions for discovering Rome. Also there are some nice and good restaurants near by and around the corner is a beer pub. We had a wonderful time in Rome and in the Apartment thanks to the great hospitality of Valerio :-). We will be back soon! Thanks for all.
Valerio was not on the premises when we arrived. Someone else (whose name we never got) checked two of our party in very hurriedly, while the rest of our party of 10 waited down on the street. Upon finally getting into the flat on the 3rd level (one tiny elevator which held one person and one large suitcase for each trip), the flat was nice, though not truly like this photos shown on AIRBNB. It's a bit more "worn" than the photos depict.
We would also like to point out that though the description on AIRBNB says it is air conditioned, only the bedrooms are, and not all of them...the one in the front of the unit (which in the AIRBNB photos seems to be sort of set up as a living area) is not, though it did have a fan in it. So if you plan on spending any time in the "living areas" of the flat relaxing or entertaining, it would be quite uncomfortable in warm weather.
The flat is very close to the train station, which we had to take from the seaport where our ship dropped us, about a 10 minute walk. It's also close to a tram system, which was easy to use to get around the major site seeing areas. The area was very pleasant with lots of restaurants and shopping.
We did not get to meet our host, Valerio, at all the two days we were there, but he did leave a bottle of wine for us in the unit.
For the price, and if you do not plan on spending a lot of time in the flat to relax and/or entertain, it's just right. We were there, basically only to shower, dress and sleep, as there's so much to do, we didn't want to spend too much time indoors.
Our stay in Trastevere at Valerios apartment was perfect. There were 6 of us and the apartment accommodated all our needs. The entire place is exactly how it looks in the photos , very clean and spacious. Valerio went out of his way to make sure our stay was comfortable!! The bottle of wine upon our welcome was so kind. Getting there was easy, we arrived from Fiumicino right into the Trastevere station. The apartment is only a 10 min walk. We used the # 8 Tram a lot and relied on the #3 bus to go further out. Getting to know the neighborhood was the great, Pizza Boom is the best!! The Focaccia was amazing!! I recommend this place especially if your traveling with a large group!! Thank-you so much Valerio for all your gracious hospitality!!
Our host was great. He gave us lots of really useful information and answered all our questions. The apartment was clean and spacious, and it's really well located to the tram and train station. We were able to get to the airport in a jiffy.
We were a bit confused when we arrived at the address - it was a business outside the apartment building because the apartment doesn't show up on Google maps apparently. If you stay here, just know that ahead of time.
Valerio and his friend met us as we approached the apartment. Valerio had provided perfect directions to the apartment, and they proceeded to give us a map and a brief tutorial in navigating the area and public transportation. Even though there were only five people in our party, we could have fit twice as many people in to the space. Everything was clean and comfortable. 3 bathrooms were a real treat for our group. Trastevere is further away from the historic center of Rome, but the amount of time spent on tram or bus was minimal. We could easily get where we needed to go. There are many great dining establishments nearby and a supermarket. Great place, great host, great location. Highly recommend to others. This is a steal for the price. Valerio included a bottle of wine as we arrived.
