  • Nice place, great goodies, would like to return.

  • The schoolhouse provided a wonderful late winter retreat! Four of us relaxed there VERY comfortably--it's an easy space for cooking, playing cards, and reading. We're already planning our next trip to the schoolhouse!

  • The house was very cozy, and had everything we needed to cook up some delicious meals. There were a number of board games we enjoyed playing. Saskia and Rob were very generous and hospitable, leaving out some Vermont treats on the counter for us and shoveling the driveway for us so we could have a comfortable arrival. It was a great location with a local cheese maker nearby, as well as a distillery, and not far from our skiing destination at Mt Snow. We'll definitely be returning here!

  • Saskia was the perfect host in every regard. She was incredibly responsive via email and left detailed instructions about nearby places to grocery shop, snowshoe, and other activities. The house was in perfect condition, very cute and nicely decorated, with plenty of good coffee and other items already stocked. The three bedrooms made it exactly the right size for the four of us and our two babies. I would highly recommend this place.

  • This place exceeded our expectations, both by being even cozier than the pictures showed and by providing so many small amenities that we didn't expect. The english muffins and coffee were surprisingly accompanied by fresh milk and butter, and there were hotel-style mini-toiletries in the bathroom. Overall, we received far more than our money's worth for the stay and would certainly go back.

  • I can't say enough good things about Saskia or her home. She was very clear with her communication before we arrived and the house was clean, nicely decorated, and exactly as described when we got there. The house is more spacious than the photos would make you believe - our group was 4 adults and we were more than comfortable with the space. The kitchen has everything you need to cook with (pots, pans, coffeemaker, etc). The house is semi secluded so you feel like you can really relax but not so secluded that you feel isolated (we were able to drive into Brattleboro in 15 minutes and to Mt. Snow in approx 30). I highly recommend this place!!

  • Our winter stay at the house was wonderful. Saskia did everything to make sure that our stay was pleasant, and kept constant contact with us even when the weather wasn't so accommodating. The house is tucked away on a country road and close to the ski resorts and great snowshoeing. We spent many cozy evenings cooking, eating, and spending time together. We'll definitely be back!

  • Everything about our short stay at Saskia's place in Newfane was excellent. Communication was smooth and easy and the place offers a perfect Vermont experience. Easy to get to, yet situated in a beautiful, quiet area. The house offers a great balance between simplicity and being well-appointed. Highly recommended!

  • Saskia was a great host and accommodated our fluid plans so well! Extended family and friends stayed in the lovely VT farmhouse during our wedding. We all enjoyed the house and idyllic location. We'd love to come back to celebrate an anniversary.

  • Saskia's house is a wonderful place - we wish we had stayed a few more days. Plenty of room for our family (two adults, two kids) and there was an extra room where another two could have slept. Perfect balance of country life with modern conveniences. Great communication in the lead-up to our arrival, and the house was perfectly set up for visitors. A lovely place in a lovely part of the country. Highly recommended.
