The Best Location Studio Apartment

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Rue Rachel Est, Montreal, QC H2W 1E4, Canada

The Space

The apartment is fully furnished, including all bedding and towels. The apartment is always provided clean and tidy with the bed made with clean bedding and clean towels in the cupboard. There is wireless hi-speed internet with unlimited downloading. There's also an alarm clock radio. The bed is a double. There is a small fridge, double hotplate, large toaster oven, and regular toaster, plus dishes, pans, and utensils to cook whatever. There's a closet to hang clothes and to store bags etc.The studio is a comfortable and efficient space full of charm. In the daytime it is bright, thanks to the many windows, and cozy and intimate by night.
The studio is situated in the heart of the trendy Plateau neighborhood. The Plateau is the cultural heart and soul of Montreal. Physically, the studio is located at the epicenter of the city, so to get to all points on the Island is as efficient as can be. Notably Downtown Montreal is just an easygoing 20 minute walk away. Also it's only 20 minutes to walk to the cool hipster Mile End neighborhood. There's a couple of laundromats on Duluth street, a short block away. It's ten minutes to walk to Sherbrooke or Mount Royal Metro stations. It's five minutes to get to the 55 north-south bus and 10 minutes to get to the 80 bus on Parc Avenue, that circles the central core of the city day and night.
There are lots of long established cafes, boutiques and restaurants in the neighborhood, both cheap or upscale but all very good. A little stroll and you are at the hip Parc Jeanne-Mance and at the foot the Mountain (Parc Mont Royal; scene of the amazing Sunday Tam Tam gatherings in the summer months).
Perfect for temporary visitors, contract workers, students etc. For visitors planning on cooking, there's a supermarket on Duluth Street (a short block away) and also Segals (the cheapest in Montreal!) nearby on St Laurent (a five minute walk).

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Small but clean place in a neighborhood full of character. Patrick was helpful and responsive through e-mail. Would return!

  • My partner and I stayed here over a long week-end.

Here are the "facts" of our experience:

    1. The studio is small and well-located, about a 15-20 min walk from Mont-Royal station.
    2. There are three small flights of steep stairs leading to the entrance, so be warned if you have heavy suitcases (there is no elevator).
    3. There is a bar opposite which can get noisy late at night.
    4. I'm sorry to say that our bed was not ready when we arrived and the next guests arrived before an agreed-upon check-out time.

Clearly, some of these aspects are modifiable and others aren't.

  • Très bien situé au cœur du plateau.

  • This is a spacious room, with all the privacy we can get as we can stay there all by ourselves. The place is clean and there is a small kitchen adequate for making meals. It is very close to tourist spots. Well worth the money for the convenience and comfort. In fact, we tried to rebook again, but it wasn't available. We strongly recommend it without reservation. Thank you, Patrick, for our lovely stay at your place!

  • Patrick is as cool and eclectic as they come if you get the chance to meet him and his place has everything you need; great location, comfy bed, and a balcony to Montreal watch. I highly recommend his units, he knows how to pick them.

  • Super hôte et super petit studio au cœur du quartier qui bouge ! Tout était la, tout était propre, juste à poser les valises. Merci Patrick !!

  • Patrick was very helpful and accomodating. The location can't be beat, and the place is a great value. I'd definitely come back!

  • Appartement compact, mais fonctionnel et très propre. Merci

    March 2014
  • We enjoyed our stay in Montréal, the apartment was warm, cosy, comfortable and well located ! Recommended !

    March 2014
  • A nice, sunny studio on the third floor overlooking the road. Hot shower, toasty heaters, lots of art on the walls.

Parking was hard, partly because the recent snow blocked a lot of spots, partly because there are lots of reserved sections.

WiFi was spotty. The connection was fast, but would drop out frequently.

Otherwise, we enjoyed the space and location and look forward to a return trip.
