This one bedroom house is on 10 acres at the end of a rural road and yet just 1 minute to Hwy 116 near Forestville. There is no road traffic since it is on the back of the property. Quiet, private and serene.
Your sunny south facing porch looks out onto a wonderful flower and vegetable garden that is graced by the flowing sounds of water from a dophin fountain. Just past the garden you see deer walking through the meadow and tall trees beyond that. There is an earth mound walking labyrinth in the back yard. There is also a hot and cold running shower in the private backyard along with a flock of chickens in a coop. There is a special oak grove to enjoy shade and solitude at the end of the 10 acres.
The house is casual in decor and on the small side. You may find that the time you have booked this bed that you are sharing the house with two people ( one of them would be your host, the other a "mostly absent" housemate) Then again, it may be that the host and housemate are gone and there could be another Bnb guest in one bedroom. Sometimes you may end up with the entire house to yourself!
It has many decorative artifacts indoors so is not childproof or very adaptable for children. The gardens on the property are not designed with protection from dogs, but the house may accomodate one very well behaved, older dog.
There is a stereo, tv (dvds only) and barbecue. Full kitchen, bathtub/shower and even a hot and cold outdoor shower. Nature is the entertainment here! This is beautiful wine country. The ocean is only 30 min away. It is a short walk to the end of the street where there is a bus stop for bus #20 going to the Guerneville and Sebstopol and on to Santa Rosa.
This listing is for the full size bed that is located in the open room . There is plenty of privacy for the private bedrooms are down the hall and you are not visible from those rooms. When you are in this space those in the house adapt to your hours and are perfectly willing to let you rise early or arrive late as you need.
This woman should be banned from AirBnB. I've slept in rooms all over the world and never had such a miserable experience. Irene is renting out her shotgun shack , a fly-infested hovel with an uncomfortable futon far out in the woods and far from food, transit or any amenities. She is renting a bed without the consent of her landlord. It's a scam.
Irene is a wonderful host, we connected on many different levels. Her place was clean and presentable and was in a good relative location to the surrounding towns.
I enjoyed my stay, very cute place, peaceful garden to enjoy your morning tea or coffee. Irena was very weloming and had homemade
Airbnb comes through again! I had very little notice when I needed a place to stay. Within 24 hours Irene responded and my stay was terrific. Irene is a most welcoming host and she is completely outfitted. The bed was perfect. The place was outstanding. I kept some late hours and even that was no problem at all. It all worked for me so well. If one needs a place to stay in this area I would definitely consider what Irene is offering. Thank you Irene and thank you Airbnb.
Irina works hard in her garden every day and uses everything in it for her sustainability. Since she depends on it for her livelihood, she has lots of projects going on everywhere. The area itself is very quiet and peaceful. At night, you can walk outside and look up at billions of stars and actually see the Milky Way. In the morning, chirping birds greet the day. It's a busy household with lots of activity. During my stay, there were 6 of us sharing one bathroom. Irina asked me to bring my own sheets and towels, which I am glad that I did. It's a very small house. I really enjoyed the other people staying at the house and the shared meals we all helped to prepare. I did not enjoy the lack of privacy. You need to be a low-maintenance person to stay here.
I didn't have a chance to stay there due to a change in plans. Irene was very responsive via phone and email.
Irena was a kind and generous hostess.
Booked with relatively short notice and was able to stay here when a lot of the other options in Sebastopol were booked solid on a popular weekend. Appreciated the morning light, sound of birds and the green expanse of woods outside across the field.
Irene is very warm and welcoming. Her home is cute and cozy. I would stay again.
Irene is a very sweet woman, but this place isn't going to be for everyone.
The house itself is on an unmarked back road behind somebody else's house. You drive through a sea of old, rusted cars before ending up at the house. Not shown in the photos are the interior decorations which can be a little creepy, especially at night (voodoo dolls, snake skins, etc.) She also keeps chickens and a rooster, which might be a problem if you're a light sleeper. We left around 4:30am for our triathlon and heard the rooster on our way out.
Irene was very responsive to my emails and helped me work out renting both the rooms in her house for myself and another couple.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
