The space

Open Bali Style home that allows you to feel a part of the natural surroundings with all comforts of modern living.....except TV. You will be the ONLY guest in my home at the time of your stay. The seperate guest bedroom and bath are private from the main house, but join with a walkway to the pool, and open air gathering area that includes internet, kitchen, dinning, living room and laundry. Clothing optional in the pool, as you are the only guest. I have hammocks and books to share as well as a few DVD's but it is better to bring your own selection if you want to watch a movie. I can make arrangements if planned in advance for massage, Reiki, facials, tours, private chef. There are several good restaurants in the area and I am located about 1/2 way between the town of Uvita and Ojochal. My home sits overlooking the Ballena National Marine park and is backed up to Primary Rain Forest....full of birds, monkeys, slothes, butterflies and more....all right here to enjoy close up. There is air conditioning available for an extra fee, but most do not need it, the evenings have cool breeze from the mountains and a light blanket is usually needed long before morning. There are ceiling fans in all areas. I love to share the peaceful beauty I have found here and will do my best to provide you with a very memorable experience that you will want to repeat again. There is much to entertain yourself in our area if relaxation is not your goal. We have Snorkeling, Scuba, Zip Lines, Mountain Biking, Fishing, Bird Watching, Hiking in Jungles, Waterfalls, Quad Tours, Surfing and surfing lessons, Yoga classes , Horseback Riding on Beach or Mountain trails to waterfalls, Marine Park and not far is Corcovado National Park, and more(URL HIDDEN) My home is open for all couples or singles, and Alternative Lifes Styles Welcome. It is also a great Honey Moon or Aniversary stay(URL HIDDEN) My pets are in the main house and not permitted in your bedroom, they are all very friendly and non threatening and love having company. You will also see many different jungle animals and birds if you are patient and around the house at the right time. I am bordering the jungle rain forest and a path way for many is right next to my home! BE SURE TO RENT A 4x4 car for your travels in Costa Rica's southern zone and to my home, it is not far off the main road but it is a bit of a climb!

Dale's beautiful retreat was the vacation spot I was looking for. I avoid resort type settings, looking for more intimate and interesting places and Casa Tranquila fit the bill. Dale and Phil's knowledge of the local area was generously shared and made parts of our trip especially nice with tips about secluded beaches and off-the-path restaurants. Highly recommended!

Dale and Phil were excellent hosts -- they made sure we felt welcome and helped us to get oriented to the neighborhood. During our stay they were invaluable in helping us explore the surrounding beaches, restaurants and tour opportunities. We had only to mention our plans for the following day, and they'd offer to make a phone call to help us make reservations for snorkeling, horseback riding, or fine dining. They were generous in allowing us to borrow beach gear, towels and kitchen tools. Not to mention Phil's kindness in making fresh coffee for us each morning. We couldn't have asked for better guides to our first visit to Costa Rica!

Dale was a superb host who went above and beyond our expectations. She arranged a couple's massage and provided suggestions on activities, restaurants and sights that we would never have found on our own. The accommodations are lovely and the beautiful pictures do not do justice to the splendor of Casa Tranquila! Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for either a restful respite, or a base for exploring the OSA peninsula.

We had an incredible time at Dale's home. She lives in a paradise, an open-style home right in the heart of the jungle. We fell asleep to the sounds of rain, monkeys and birds every night, it was very soothing. She was respectful and gave us as much privacy as we needed. We used her kitchen to make a feast of a breakfast, she had everything there that we needed. We used her pre-filtered water which was very kind of her. Dale gave us great recommendations including making a reservation for us our last night at an absolutely amazing restaurant with an infinite pool looking out over the ocean. Everything was ideal. Small note, she says it in her description but I'll reiterate: It is 100% necessary to get a 4x4! Roads in Costa Rica are mostly unpaved paths & crazy steep! All in all, wonderful experience.

Dale made us feel very welcome when we arrived at Casa Tranquila. She was waiting for us when we arrived and gave us a tour of her beautiful home and pool. The guest cottage we stayed in was perfect, nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed. Three walls were almost all screen which let in the great breeze and made us feel like we were sleeping outside. The bathroom was large with a wonderful roomy shower with a open window looking out into her beautiful jungle yard. Dale was very helpful with a great recommendation for dinner and sunset watching (Hotel El Castillo just a few kilometers down the road) as well as great beach recommendations. We would highly recommend Casa Tranquila.

I am bless with living in one of the most diverse ecological parts of the world, surrounded by tropical rainforest, filled with wildlife and beauty. In front of me is the Ballena National Marine Park, so jungle, mountain and ocean abounds. The perfect place to get back in touch with yourself and nature. It is my joy to be able to share this with others. I have been living here around 11 years, love it and know how to enjoy it and appreciate being able to show others. I love making people feel welcome and special and enjoy meeting new friends that come my way. My motto is Love Life.
