One mile south of Kailua-Kona on Alii Drive, Alii Villas is a beautiful oceanfront complex with tropical landscaping, a large freshwater pool, and a patio area perfect for barbecuing or sunbathing. Black-and-white spinner dolphins and green sea turtles are frequent visitors to the bay just north of the complex, and bright reef fish school in the little coves and beaches nearby.
A short, pretty drive south leads to the best surfing, snorkeling, and diving areas in the Hawaiian islands; a trip north through 19th century lava flows takes you to dozens of peaceful white-sand beaches lined with palm and kiawe trees. Inland—a longer drive, but well worth the trip—is Kilauea, the Big Island’s active volcano, and the weird extraterrestrial landscape of Volcanoes National Park. To see the whole beautiful island and travel easily from one great beach to another, we recommend you rent a car at the airport.

The condo was very convenient for walking into town. We sat on the lanai for coffee and dinner; so pretty and relaxing. The condo was clean and pleasant. There are snorkels, boogie boards, water shoes and beach towels for use, also some much needed sun screen and after-sun care.
The only reason we didn't give a 5 star rating is because the bed really needs replacing. It was very noisy, old and uncomfortable.
Myself and 3 others stayed here a week. We had a lovely stay at this condo. It was as described and met our expectations. We were able to walk to many attractions in town as well as drive to beaches, historical sites and hikes in the area. A nice bonus was a closet with lots of beach items - snorkels, boogie boards, etc. that was pretty awesome. The pool in the middle of the complex is very nice and has a library of books and magazines to borrow. Eric was very helpful and prompt responding to emails and calls. The complex is a bit noisy but no more than one might expect as there are a lot of buildings close together and most people kept their windows open. We very much enjoyed our stay and found this to be a very good value.
Perfect and lovely place. Beautiful apartment with all possible facilities. Hosts left us a perfect guide book which helped a lot when traveling around island.
If we return (and we know it will happen soon) we would definitely come back to this place. Big A+
Host was prompt with contact info. Place is well located for Kona activities, and is basic, efficient and compact. Has a good sized kitchen and fridge. The Condo compound dates from the early '70's but has a better than average swimming pool and bbq area. Was well suited for our needs. But folks should understand that these condos are pretty tightly packed together, and with windows and lanais only a few feet apart, hence the neighbors and their conversations are close. We had some noisy neighbors during our visit, and so had to shut all the doors and windows, others may have a different experience. The fold-out sofa/bed is really a futon with light-weight metal supports and is a bit dated and while good for kids or young adults, isn't really a solution for mature adults for longer stays.
The internet DOES work well, however the password given is printed all in upper case. That won't work, you will have to use lowercase to get the password to function.
Amazing condo right where you'd want to be in Kona. Very quiet and private! The convenience of the parking spot, full kitchen(with cups, silverware, plates, utensils and bake ware and pretty much anything you need), and washer and dryer made the stay feel like home. The pool was so clean and refreshing too! There was even a closet with a bunch of beach stuff like chairs and boogie boards in case you forget anything. The aloe under the sink in the bathroom definitely came in handy! It was the little touches and attention to details that really made this stay better than being at a generic, impersonal hotel.
Eric was very attentive and helpful. I did have to call him for a little hiccup and it was just a misunderstanding with the cleaning crew which was taken care of quickly and efficiently. If I do come back, I'd definitely stay here again instead of dealing with a timeshare or a hotel.
This was in a very convenient location and very easy stay. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The area was very quiet and peaceful, but close to the town shops/restaurants and some lovely beach spots. Eric made it super easy for us to check in and we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks!
