Interaction with Guests
Once I have greeted you and shown you the ropes, I pretty much let you take your lead. So you can expect quiet time if you need it. I work, volunteer so am pretty busy. I am always available by phone, should you have a need or concern. I live on the premises also.
Located within walking distance of The Narrows Bridge, with beautiful views, (unfortunately I'm located in the "valley"), but can be seen with just a short walk down the road. My house in on a corner lot, with a huge hemlock tree at the very corner of my property behind a wood fence.
Entrance to The Secret Garden : Make a very sharp turn onto Harmon Street and North Narrows Drive. The first driveway on your right is where you park, or on the side of the street. The entrance is located here on this level from the driveway.
For those that are directionally challenged like I am, please print out the map and directions! :)
Bus transportation from the bus stop across the street on the corner from the house. Access to Highway 16 to I-5, bus, taxi, rental cars.

Patty has a beautiful and unique home in a quiet neighborhood. She is a gracious host and even provided a nice breakfast each morning. Tacoma is the home of the awesome LeMays Auto Museum, Glass Museum and growing arts culture. Point Defiance Park is an absolute jewel in this city. Great visit. Mark
We enjoyed our stay with Patty. Her hospitality was wonderful as she welcomed us into her home. The home and rooms are ecelctically decorated and are full of personality. The living room offered a good place to relax. She even prepared a nice breakfast in the morning which included a fruit/yogurt bowl, and a sausage casarole.
Patty was a great host and very accommodating to a last minute booking. The room was cozy and comfortable. Great location for exploring the nearby areas.
- cozy room
- comfortable bed
- excellent breakfast
- friendly host.
Can clearly recommend it to others visiting Tacoma.
We didn't see Patty and Jerry much since we were out galavanting around early in the morning and we usually get back late. It was definitely a well kept up place and whenever we did interact with the hosts, they were really nice and accomodating. We did however, move different rooms three times due to some last minute changes but it was of little inconvenience to us since we were barely there and Patty would move our stuff for us while we were gone. Overall, this was our first airbnb experience and it was a great one.
We had a wonderful time at Patty's. Her place is gorgeous: beautifully decorated and she has made every possible effort to make her guests comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. We did not spend a lot of time there because we were there to visit family, but would love to go back. She has a lovely garden and a balcony to go out on. She made us an incredible breakfast of berries wrapped in Swedish pancakes with creme fraiche as well as blueberry lemon scones. It was better than we would have expected from a five-star hotel. Highly recommend her place. Only suggestion for guests is to make sure you have good directions if you are coming late at night in the dark, as we had some difficulties finding it at 2:00 in the morning.
Patty's house was great . We had all the first floor to ourselves and other guests from idaho . We had a couple of great microbrews and Patty had so many options on where to relax and enjoy them ( sunny back yard or shafded balconies ...it was the heatwave . Room was cozy and had those little attentions , pitcher of ice cold water on arrival in the 90 degree heat . Breakfast was delicious .
All in all a great experience .Thanks for everything !!!!!
