The ancient small village of S. Enea is located at the crest of a hill with beautiful views to Perugia, Assisi, and the landscape of Umbria. My house is on the central square in front of the tower. There are two bedrooms and one large living room.
The relaxing living room with its welcoming fireplace and large windows, ideal for watching the daily life of the hamlet, is located on the second floor near the bedrooms. On the same floor is a spacious bathroom.
You can enjoy breakfast in the large open plan living room / kitchen on the first floor.
There is space for at least five people, a group of friends, or a family - and the single traveler is made just as welcome as any group.
The rooms are really nice! The hamlet is like a small village and you will immediately become part of the community. Oh yes, and you have wireless internet access throughout the house.
Guests also have the use of the small adjacent garden, where breakfast may be taken in good weather.
I would like to show you Umbria, or at least help you to discover particular places. I can give descriptions and tell you stories and then you can decide. Our Le Mat hospitality is well known in many places. Don't hesitate to ask us how to spend your time! I can be at home when you are my guests!
Umbria is a really beautiful landscape surrounded by hills and small medieval villages where you can still find rich community life. S. Enea is a hamlet like this. Outside the city walls which protect people and create their common home there are the hills which are cultivated with olive trees, vines, wheat - and there are still many farmers. You can walk through the hills where the landscape continuously changes. Umbria is a place to think and to relax, and in S. Enea you can do all that in solitude or with friends at an easy pace.
There is a small airport in Perugia, or you can fly to Rome (Ciampino or Fiumicino), Ancona, or Florence, hiring a car - or we can organise to collect you. Umbria is easy to reach.
Once here a bus can be taken from S. Enea to Perugia. However, services are quite infrequent, so getting around is best by car, motorbike, or bike. It’s easy and fun to travel around Umbria on bikes and there are many fascinating places to visit in this rural area.
Italy and Umbria are beautiful in all seasons, especially in autumn and spring, rich in colours and textures all year round. Welcome!
Italy and Umbria are beautiful, also in the wintertime but specially in autumn and spring!
Renate is an intelligent and generous host. The house is fabulous and everything is clean and of high quality. Great breakfasts!
Highly recommended as a base to see the sights of Perugia, Assisi and surrounds, but a car is essential.
