Interaction with Guests
I will meet you when you arrive, offer you a beverage, and help you get acquainted with the apartment and the neighborhood. I'm mostly in and out so you might not see me a ton during your stay. However, if you'd like a tour of the neighborhood or want to see what a night out with a local is like, I can definitely make that happen. I also really enjoy cooking and am always down to share a meal with new friends.

The apartment is located three blocks away from one of Chicago's largest parks, the beautiful Humboldt Park. The Humboldt Park neighborhood is a very up & coming area with lots of new boutiques, bookstores, art galleries, & bars/restaurants popping up. It lines some of the more well-known hip Chi neighborhoods (Logan Square, Wicker Park, Ukrainian Village) while still keeping itself from being overcrowded. The neighborhood is overall eclectic and fun. Within short walking distance, there is a local grocery store, a Walgreens, and a few of my favorite bars/restaurants.
Safe, free street parking is fairly bountiful surrounding the apartment. We are a 5 min walk to the 72 North Bus which can take you straight to Wicker Park and straight to the beach. We are a 10-15 min walk to two Blue Line train stops, which gives you access to the whole El system. There are Divvy Bikes ( Chicago's Bike share) located three blocks away if you want to rent bikes for a ride through the park or the city. I can also help set you up with an Uber while you're here.
Other Things to Note
-Washer and Dryer for $1: necessary for music festival weekends
-Tea, coffee, and various breakfast items in the morning
-The fridge and pantry will be stocked and you are welcome to help yourself to anything.
-Fresh sheets and towels will be provided
-Wi-Fi included but this is a television free household
No smoking in the house ( you can smoke on the patio), no cats, please inquire about dogs. If you come home after 10pm, please do your best to be as quiet as possible as there are families in the building. I operate on trust and respect and we expect that you do the same :)
While I did not get to meet Alysia, as she was out of town, the apartment was ADORABLE! She left a wonderful list of things to do, how to get around and I had a fun time (despite the unpredictable summer weather) traveling in Chicago. She has a ton of wonderful magazines and the apartment is centrally located in a hip neighborhood not far from adjacent Wicker Park. I took advantage of the recommendations she provided and visited both the Art Institute (not to be missed) as well as restaurants and the nearby coffee shop. Uber is easy, reliable and quick if you are worried about the distance to the train. I highly recommend a stay here.
We didn't meet Alysia until our 3rd day in Chicago, but communicating with her and getting into the apartment was very easy. Alysia left us a thorough guide of tips and recommendations that were very helpful and appreciated. She was very lovely when we did meet.
The apartment was just as bright and airy as the pictures make it look. The bed was comfortable and there was enough space for the two of us and all my clothes ;)
The location was good, just a 10-15 walk to wicker park, or a quick 5 min bus ride. A little further from downtowm but the bus/subway was easy enough to navigate. We would highly recommend staying with Alysia in this beauty of an apartment. Thanks again, Alysia!
Alysia was very accommodating and sweet, texting us suggestions of where to eat after our late night arrival. The bed was very comfy and the apartment cute and bright. It was perfect for the night!
Alysia and her place were awesome! She messaged me a few days prior to my arrival to confirm when I was arriving and how to retrieve the key. She was easily accessible by phone during my trip as well.
Great location. Walking distance to the blue line that will take you to O'hare or the loop. Walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops and Wicker Park/Humboldt Park.
The room was a decent size for 2 people. I wish the bed had more pillows (we were supplied with 2). I didn't ask so I'm not sure if she had extra. We loved that there was a large window in the room which let in a lot of light and air.
I would definitely recommend her place for the price and location!
Alysia is a total sweetheart. She's very welcoming, easy to talk to, and has wonderful recommendations for out of towners. She provides timely responses to questions via text and email leading up to the stay and checkin/out was simple. Her apartment is even cuter in real life and super comfortable! Absolutely adore her3
Alysia was a wonderful host. She welcomed me warmly into her home with a glass of wine on the verandah and fun conversation. Her home is beautifully curated yet she is very relaxed and easy going. My room was cozy and precisely what I needed/expected. The neighborhood felt safe and residential. It is close to bars, restaurants, shops, etc. but not on top of them. The walk from the L is moderate. Totally fine with warmish weather, surely less fun in the winter. It was great to be off the Blue line. It made getting to and from the airport a breeze.
Alysia was a very accommodating host, easy to talk to, and accurate in her description of the listing. Her handwritten guide to the neighbourhood that we were staying in was extremely useful, and her apartment is as immaculately well presented as her photos suggest. I would definitely recommend staying with her to anyone visiting the city.

About the Host, Alysia
Hey, I'm Alysia, a California born creative who has lived in Chicago for about 6 years. I work as a designer and coordinator for an Event Production and PR studio called No Small Plans Productions and am the Founder and Creative Director of an art and design blog called 1137. In my spare time you can find me grabbing a drink with friends, working my way through a stack of publications ( which you are welcome to flip through as well), making Greek style tacos for the tenth time, drinking a lot of coffee, riding my bike around town or dancing to my collection of Motown records.
I love to travel and love to meet new people. I work hard but play hard too and am always out and about in the city. I can be low key or provide or provide you with an awesome insiders guide to Chicago - just ask!
