Interaction with Guests
I will meet you when you arrive, offer you a beverage, and help you get acquainted with the apartment and the neighborhood. I'm mostly in and out so you might not see me a ton during your stay. However, if you'd like a tour of the neighborhood or want to see what a night out with a local is like, I can definitely make that happen. I also really enjoy cooking and am always down to share a meal with new friends.

The apartment is located three blocks away from one of Chicago's largest parks, the beautiful Humboldt Park. The Humboldt Park neighborhood is a very up & coming area with lots of new boutiques, bookstores, art galleries, & bars/restaurants popping up. It lines some of the more well-known hip Chi neighborhoods (Logan Square, Wicker Park, Ukrainian Village) while still keeping itself from being overcrowded. The neighborhood is overall eclectic and fun. Within short walking distance, there is a local grocery store, a Walgreens, and a few of my favorite bars/restaurants.
Safe, free street parking is fairly bountiful surrounding the apartment. We are a 5 min walk to the 72 North Bus which can take you straight to Wicker Park and straight to the beach. We are a 10-15 min walk to two Blue Line train stops, which gives you access to the whole El system. There are Divvy Bikes ( Chicago's Bike share) located three blocks away if you want to rent bikes for a ride through the park or the city. I can also help set you up with an Uber while you're here.
Other Things to Note
-Washer and Dryer for $1: necessary for music festival weekends
-Tea, coffee, and various breakfast items in the morning
-The fridge and pantry will be stocked and you are welcome to help yourself to anything.
-Fresh sheets and towels will be provided
-Wi-Fi included but this is a television free household
No smoking in the house ( you can smoke on the patio), no cats, please inquire about dogs. If you come home after 10pm, please do your best to be as quiet as possible as there are families in the building. I operate on trust and respect and we expect that you do the same :)

Staying at Alysias place was just wonderful! We'd stay quiet a time in her apt (10 days) and she was all gentle, very nice and helpful. The bed is super comfortable and our bedroom small, but quiet and very cozy. Her apt is beautifully styled and full of daylight and warm (it's been a cold march, so that meant a lot to us!).
She also had tons of recommendations of bars and other great places in her neighbourhood. Thank you, Alysia!
Charming apt in good neighbourhood, 15 min walk from six corners/wicker park, one of chicago's hippest hoods. Alysia was a pleasure to chat with and a great host.
Great appartment, great host and great location. We loved everything about the place and we could not have had a better first airbnb experience !
Alysia was friendly, gave us good advices and was welcoming.
Thank you !
I didn't get the chance to meet Alysia but my boyfriend did briefly and said she was very nice. She provided super clear and detailed instructions on how to get into the apartment and how to use the amenities available. She also provided a travel guide with lots of suggestions of things to do and places to eat/drink in both her neighborhood and in the city. The apartment was really comfy and cozy and was accurately represented by the pictures. There is no TV but she has wifi as well as a record player and lots of really great books. The neighborhood is quiet and very residential, but you only have to walk about 10 minutes out to find some cute coffee shops and eateries along the main roads. Both the train and the buses were a short walk from the apartment. This was our first Airbnb experience and it was so easy and seamless. Thank you Alysia! We had a great stay in Chicago!
Alysia was a great host- and although we were both out and about for most of the weekend, I felt confident in knowing I could reach out to her if I needed something. The apartment is just like the pictures, very light and airy. The neighborhood is super residential, but there is a nice commercial strip along North on the way to the Damen CTA stop. Wicker Park is wonderful (10-15 min walk), plenty of life and things to eat/drink/do. Access to divvy bikes made seeing the city a lot of fun- so consider that when you stay here! Loved it, thanks Alysia!
Staying with Alysia was amazing! She was a really great host, providing helpful information about what to check out in her neigbourhood, as well as other areas in Chicago, which was nice since this was our first visit to the city.
Her apartment is beautiful and cozy, and the guest room and bed are comfortable for two people (my wife and I stayed with Alysia), and there is a dresser provided for storage during your stay.
Alysia provided hot coffee in the morning, and there was fruit in the fridge for us as well.
The apartment is a fairly short walk to the blue line L train, and the very hip neighbourhood of Wicker Park. There are lots of places to eat & drink nearby, and all amenities are within walking distance. Despite its convenient location, her street is quite quiet and parking is easy.
We only got to spend a couple days in Chicago, but I was left wanting to come back, and I would definitely look to stay with Alysia again next time I visit. She was a friendly, attentive host who helped make our experience a vastly better one than if we had just stayed in a hotel.

Hey, I'm Alysia, a California born creative who has lived in Chicago for about 6 years. I work as a designer and coordinator for an Event Production and PR studio called No Small Plans Productions and am the Founder and Creative Director of an art and design blog called 1137. In my spare time you can find me grabbing a drink with friends, working my way through a stack of publications ( which you are welcome to flip through as well), making Greek style tacos for the tenth time, drinking a lot of coffee, riding my bike around town or dancing to my collection of Motown records.
I love to travel and love to meet new people. I work hard but play hard too and am always out and about in the city. I can be low key or provide or provide you with an awesome insiders guide to Chicago - just ask!
