About this listing
Looking for a cheap bed for the night in Sheffield?
My son has graciously agreed to let me rent out his room while he's away at university!
It comes with a 2-metre bed, so it's especially suitable for tall visitors, but anyone is welcome.
My house is on a quiet cul-de-sac, just off the A621, 2 miles south of Sheffield railway station and on 5 major bus routes from the city centre; busses run at least every 10 minutes during the day and early evening. It's also just 6 miles from the stunningly beautiful Peak District National Park.
It's clean and friendly if a bit scruffy!
All visitors are equal but cyclists are more equal than others!
Bed linen and towels provided. Shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. Free Virgin Media cable tv and wi-fi plus massive DVD collection!
Smoking area in back yard.
There's a variety of local ethnic shops and eateries plus a Morrison's Local supermarket and a recently renovated Victorian pub called The Broadfield, all within a few hundred yards.
Anything else you want to know? Just ask!
I only stayed one night, arriving quite late, so I didn't actually see Robert! However, he made good arrangements for me to pick up the key, and the room and breakfast were ready for me.
Robert is a great host, very sympathic and helpfull. I will come back soon!
Was made to feel very welcome with Robert quickly explaining basics of the house and where I was sleeping despite being on a conference call at the time. Was also a welcome pack with basic info of the house to help too.
Was just as described on the profile with more than adequate kitchen/bathroom facilities.
Perfectly safe area with bus stop 2 mins walk away with adequate bus lines into the city.
Robert is a friendly host and everything was just as described. It was a brief stay for me, but a very comfortable and pleasant one. And with five major bus routes nearby, Sheffield city centre was easy to reach. I would certainly come back again to Robert's. But because nothing is perfect, the only comment I'd make is that I'm a muesli eater in the mornings - I could have brought my own or flagged that up to him in advance I suppose. But I enjoyed the cornflakes nevertheless!
Robert is very nice and helpfull. The bed and breakfast was very good. It is very easy and fast to get to the Centre of Sheffield.
Fantastic host. Super friendly and made lots of effort with breakfast, very tidy room, towels, info.
