Looking for a cheap bed for the night in Sheffield?
My son has graciously agreed to let me rent out his room while he's away at university!
It comes with a 2-metre bed, so it's especially suitable for tall visitors, but anyone is welcome.
My house is on a quiet cul-de-sac, just off the A621, 2 miles south of Sheffield railway station and on 5 major bus routes from the city centre; busses run at least every 10 minutes during the day and early evening. It's also just 6 miles from the stunningly beautiful Peak District National Park.
It's clean and friendly if a bit scruffy!
All visitors are equal but cyclists are more equal than others!
Bed linen and towels provided. Shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. Free Virgin Media cable tv and wi-fi plus massive DVD collection!
Smoking area in back yard.
There's a variety of local ethnic shops and eateries plus a Morrison's Local supermarket and a recently renovated Victorian pub called The Broadfield, all within a few hundred yards.
Anything else you want to know? Just ask!
Robert is a great host who really takes care of his guests.
I would defenetly come back.
Thank you for my stay, it was exactly what was needed and when I am back in Sheffield I would be very happy to use your 'cheap single room' again.
The reservation was canceled 6 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Great place for staying on a short term base to setting up my joint PhD with the university. Robert is a nice, sociable and friendly man to talk with, it's a pity we could not have more conversations as we both were very busy with our jobs. The room is spacious, the dvd collection gigantic (even a Dutch movie! :), and there are a lot of books as well. Bus stop is around the corner, but it's only a 40 minutes walk to the city centre, which I did every morning and evening. Good accomodation, I highly recommend it and would definitely stay again! Thanks again Robert for letting me use the washing machine, and good luck with the play in July!
It was a short business (University) stay in Sheffield. I have stayed with Robert before and all was fine, as before.
The 40 minutes brisk walk from Robert's to the city centre can be made varied and interesting.
Thoroughly recommended, Robert is a really nice guy and great host who wants you to feel at home. The room is comfortable, quiet and well-proportioned. Shared bathroom facilities are absolutely fine and well-stocked with the essentials. Robert lays on breakfast facilities too. Great value accommodation.
Thanks again to Robert for a pleasant stay and to his son for letting me stay in his room! Nice to have the extra space including desk and TV.
I stayed with Robert for two weeks. I enjoyed the friendly and calm environment as well as the discussions we had with Robert,Although we have not agreed in everything the discussions had been polite and with valid arguments from both sides., Thank you Robert. I will see you soon in one of your services.
A good stay at Roberts. With the added benefit of a keyboard.
Staying at Roberts house was a pleasure! He is a really nice man!
